Looks nice! As for the paintwork:

Wash
Clay
Polish
Seal
Wax

Will take a bit of time, but you will get fantastic results, and easier than a respray!

Yup, I have worked on most farms in the are, and in fact right across Aberdeenshire Perthshire and Fife with my previous job servicing fire extinguishers. Beautiful part of the world!

Especially when you declare the tints and aftermarket alloys.
Do one. Just... away and do one.
Calm down dear. Just thought I'd remind the chap. The last thing I'd want would be for a fellow PHer to find themselves inadvertently driving uninsured, especially as he'll be paying nearly a grand to think he's insured. As a new driver he'd loose his license (6 point limit for first two years) so for a silly mistake it's not worth the risk.

You'll be doing it in Montrose yeah? Who are you doing lessons with? If they and you are willing try the Altens test centre, much shorter waiting times. I know what you mean about the bus trips though, the girlfriend lives on dunlappie road and she leaves just after 6 to get to college in Aberdeen for 9!

nah forfar, montrose waiting time was end of august and found one for 26th of july in forfar if my instructor let me do it in aberdeen i could have it done by now as theres no waiting times up there. n arsed with that im going to arbroath college decided against going back to aberdeen since i moved down here thought arbroath would be a better choice

hello i have been a long time lurker and finaly got my first car today it needs a bit of looking after and it failed its MOT yesterday so does need some work done but it will be fine but i don't have my full licance yet so i have a month or 2 to get it looking good.
its a 1.6 Honda Civic EP2 in milano red.
i havent yet had time to take any pics so i only have the pics i was given by the seller of the car but they shal do for now smile.

The paint work needs a good bit of work as somone has clearly keyed it and the paint is slightly faded in most areas so it appears pinkish. not sure how to sort it as i cannot afford a respray

Health to drive sir!

Pop down to your local Halfords to help with the pinking paintwork. Give the car a good wash, then attack with SuperResin Polish by AutoGlym. That should help you loads. However I woudl recommend some protection with a sealant and or wax after the polish.

Great first car though!

Just for future reference, it's easier to unclip the arch liner and go in that way to change the indicator and headlight bulbs.

If you ever buy a DC5, prepare to get rage, that's a bumper off job!

i always thought lights were simple to change and it was a job you could do at the side of the road if you needed lol clearly not.

Not even close on most new cars now to be fair, Renault's are a front end off job aswell. Pain in the arse honestly.

Lights are fiddly but can be done easily. Sidelights are simple, lock the wheel unclip the arch and reach up for the sidelight then repeat on the other side. The rest can be reached from under the bonnet

Get some lowering springs on it and the wheels will suit, I say springs alone as I spent a grand on coil overs for my Pulsar and as much as they made the car handle like it was on rails I ended up selling it a year or so later and lost so much cash on it. As its your first do not invest too much into it because you will eventually want bigger and better and that will come sooner than later.

yea im not gonna put any money into it atm im going to take the wheels off and put them back to standard for insurance purpose's only things that i will change will be small things such as speakers, head unit just general interior changes probably.

also today i lost a L plate it flew off somewhere chances are its past Edzell woods towards the fettercairn scrappy or something.

today i changed the registration lights on the back as 1 was a dud so got that lit up again i would like to get some white ones instead of the dull yellowish dirty looking ones but not sure where to get them.
