im now a country boy.....
well its safe to say im due a update on all this bits and bobs have happened nothing major.
first thing was finaly got new tyres and got my alloys back on the car after using standard wheels for a while.
then decided to sort out the center console and door handles as they were all scratched and the center console seemed to be turning blue for some reason.
then got myself some wind deflectors.
then the problems started my spark plugs packed in so replaced them with NGK iridium plugs and also got a K&N replacement filter.
other day i washed the car and decided to go and for a nice drive so i took some pictures.
then tonight my engine light made a appearance and then buggered off again not sure what to make of it but lets just hope the car was just joking with me and nothings wrong.

you needed 1 rear disk? you should check for a stuck calliper, did you replace both rear discs? it's recommended that you do so it's not pulling all over the place.
Looks a tidy enough car, white centre console looks good.
the disks and pads were replaced all round and there were a couple of slider pins on the calipers that were stuck but got it sorted. needs new slider pins and the rubber boots but apparently you need new calipers to get the rubber boots and at £90 each they aint exactly cheap but car breaks fine.Looks a tidy enough car, white centre console looks good.

Smart car for a first one; I always considered getting a EP2 (most of the looks of the EP3 without the insurance) but ended up holding on until I could run a EP3.
I can't tell too well from the photos, but is the white paint on the centre console bubbling a bit? I found on mine that the silver inserts on the door handles were horrendous for paint wearing off. Ended up spraying mine black as I got sick of having to get them resprayed silver
If you ever consider upgrading to a EP3, I'd definitely recommend them
yea fked up the first time spraying it left it in the shed and went away to get more paint came back and my dad was taking the paint off with a stanley knife and just made a mess so when i resprayed it, it came out all horrible.I can't tell too well from the photos, but is the white paint on the centre console bubbling a bit? yea im thinking keep the EP2 for a few years then get a EP3 or maybe a DC2 depending on how insurance wants to be to me.

Good updates matey, how come your insurance is so cheap if you don't mind me asking?
well the car is only insurance group 6 so im guessing that has somthing to do with it and possibly because i live in a low risk area im not 100% sure plus im 21 and i went with a bad insurance company im with insure the box so i have a box in my car tracking where i go time i drive and speed ect. it was £800 cheaper than the next quote and i think that was with Asda.Another Fluffer said:
Fair enough matey, What's it like with the box installed? I've heard if you stray of 100 or so the insurance is immediately void, true?
hmmm i havnt heard that plus my insurance seems fine havnt heard anything from my insurance company i mean when i passed my test typical first time driver got the heavy foot so i have had it at 100. the box is ok i suppose i do understand why they do it and its a good idea for first time drivers i think but i have heard a few insurance companys are following this trend with the box's.my only downside to the box is being limited to 6000 miles a year considering i have just passed my test and i love driving im always out in the car and i have used close to half ot it already.

Being a young driver on a black box, limited miles policy, how do your insurer feel about the short shifters, aftermarket wheels etc?
insurance dont mind about the alloys + tints on the car they are on my policy at no extra cost.NateWM said:
Just so you know, it's possible for short shifters to do damage to your synchros. Might be worth asking yourself if it's worth the risk.
really? i did not know this. i thought short shifters just adjusted how far you have to throw your gear stick BorkFactor said:
As in, put the car in a ditch?
Same thing happened to my mate's Civic, think it is the same as yours. Left him stranded in the middle of a roundabout at rush hour! Don't think it cost much to put right, and the car is totally fine now
nah it just snapped when i was moving off so pushed it into the side and had to leave it as i dont have breakdown cover so trying to sort getting it moved atm its sitting in brechin just now . i saw them on ebay for £50 but might just put it into a garage get it done properly and quickly as im not 100% sure what im doing.Same thing happened to my mate's Civic, think it is the same as yours.
