Fair enough matey, What's it like with the box installed? I've heard if you stray of 100 or so the insurance is immediately void, true?
hmmm i havnt heard that plus my insurance seems fine havnt heard anything from my insurance company i mean when i passed my test typical first time driver got the heavy foot so i have had it at 100. the box is ok i suppose i do understand why they do it and its a good idea for first time drivers i think but i have heard a few insurance companys are following this trend with the box's.
my only downside to the box is being limited to 6000 miles a year considering i have just passed my test and i love driving im always out in the car and i have used close to half ot it already.

Being a young driver on a black box, limited miles policy, how do your insurer feel about the short shifters, aftermarket wheels etc?

Just so you know, it's possible for short shifters to do damage to your synchros. Might be worth asking yourself if it's worth the risk.

insurance dont mind about the alloys + tints on the car they are on my policy at no extra cost.

really? i did not know this. i thought short shifters just adjusted how far you have to throw your gear stick

As in, put the car in a ditch?

Same thing happened to my mate's Civic, think it is the same as yours. Left him stranded in the middle of a roundabout at rush hour! Don't think it cost much to put right, and the car is totally fine now smile

Aslong as you know a linkage kit won't suddenly turn your box into a flat shift sequential your synchros will be fine.

Sounds like the alternator has gone. Try charging the battery and see if it starts. Does it do anything when you turn the key?
