Hi guys, ive been browsing PH for a long time now, but finally got round to joining the forum!

I was after a nice reliable, comfortable, ECONOMICAL car, but after trying a few BM's, Golf etc i found this....

The day i got her

Stance didnt suit me too much, so she got lowered 30mm with some 25mm spacers on the rear and 20mm spacers on the front (all eibach jobbys)

Coming out my mates garage...

Brakes were next up for an overhaul...

Then some eejit decided to rearrange my rear bumper frown So she was dropped off at the bodyshop on Thursday for some repair work, tints and general smoothing....

To say I love my Zed is an understatement! Ill get some current pics when shes back

Welcome to PH smile Good job on the stancing work, the wheels look so much better closer to the edges of the arches, and the ride height looks much better too! Look forward to seeing what's been smoothed

The standard brakes are pretty good especially when running close to stock performance. Any reason for the change? Looking for big power?

Cheers guys...

No real reason for the upgrade tbh, the old disks were pretty warped, so i decided to upgrade instead of putting standard parts on! It already had the RevUp remap, Plenum spacer and a full exhaust on when i bought her, so she is running a lil above standard atm (290bhp @ the fly)

Economy isnt great, getting 22mpg (30 on a run) but my daily commute is a few nice twisty roads

Like the logic with the upgrades. Sounds like you got a good one. Looks like the norm is around 300 bhp with those mods looking at various threads elsewhere. Glad your enjoying it.

Nice! and it's amazing how much the spacers change the look/stance of the car. Looks more muscle now.

Starting to like these more now. I know they're dirt cheap on insurance, but one question. How horrendous on fuel are they? I've heard everything from ruinous to 'surprisingly economical'

I picked up a 2006 GT 2 weeks ago. 500 miles later and im getting around 24 mpg and I have a REALLY heavy right foot. I was getting 29-30 out of a Fiesta ST. If you went hard I dare say you could drop it to mid teens but with a decent mix I think 24 ish is normal. Its not really that dissimilar to a Focus ST or Astra VXR to be fair. If you think of it like that its not all that bad......

Cheers guys.... the fuel isnt that bad, mines got a few mods (plenum spacer, jwt pop charger, y-piece and exhaust with an uprev remap) so i manage about 21/22mpg on a steady twisty drive, can get upto 30mpg on a motorway run!

the number plate will be going on magnets when i get round to it as the police around here are nasty buggers to us motorists!

Im not 100% sure on the strutbrace, i "think" it was about £100, i was having the rear 1/4 and rear bumper sprayed anyway after someone went into the back of me, so it wasnt any extra effort to get it out, as it has to be removed anyway for that to be done!

just gotta smarten the bay up now then she'll be almost complete!

Why not get your engine cover painted the same as your brace? Its all about taste but it would be consistance throughout the car then? Just get your clutch and brake lines in that colour and your sorted!!

My mate picked up his new wagon yesterday so we took a little blast out towards Castle Donnington and come up with these smile Only took on my phone and the weather wasnt exactly on our side!

Still not had time for a power run yet, but we'll get there soon!

are they standard wheels? suit it down to the ground, stance is spot on in my eyes
