Ha - thought I recognised the plate and username - hiya Jay I am working with another IT Contractor who drives an XJ Sport and has got me looking at these as a second motor. You say this is a keeper...aye right, I know how much you change your cars buddy! (In case you haven't twigged, it's Steven H who used to have the yellow Octy vRS). Looking good.

Hey Steven, long time no speak, how's things. Ure more than welcome to pop over and have a look. When a car goes as well as this does then yup will certainly be holding on to it. The guy who u work with who has an xj sport,it isn't a greeny colour us it?

For a big motor schuey it handles pretty well especially in sport with the cats suspension. With 4 new tyres it's pretty good. Parked up beside a vw phaeton at my work and the xjr is 6 inches longer.

Pretty sure with the options it has 50k plus. For a performance car it is great value.

Yes, the guy's one is BRG, but he drives up from Devon so not a local Things are great bud, went self-employed in March so hopefully things will pay off in the long term and i'll get myself one of those Jags as a weekender.

Lovely!! I've been fancying one of these for ages, came close a few years ago but went for the E55 instead.....costly mistake that & lost thousands on it in 10 months!!! Really fancied a black/black XJR v8 but couldn't find one at the time, loads of blue or silver ones around but a nice black/black was impossible to get hold of

Always had a toy in the drive for the weekends, this has got to be my favourite though and had it quite a while now,a full year. There's no reason why I should part with it,there's not a lot on the road that will pull away from it,plus all the comfort u could wish for.

Thanks very much. Off my work today so thought i would post up a bit of car history. First car i bought when i moved up to scotland. Ford focus 1.8 mp3 with a few tasty upgrades. Full st 170 front end exhaust, intake, cams and unichip. Ended up at 150bhp,up from the 115 bhp standard. Decided to go for something more powerfull. A seat leon fr 150 tdi, absolute hatefull thing, didnt like the power delivery and broke all the time. Finally got rid of the hatefull derv and bought a mk4 golf v6 4motion. Standard. Then after lowering it and adding a few bits and bobs. Caught the big engine bug and a audi a6 4.2 quattro came in to my work. That will do nicely. Put a set of genuine audi a5 wheels on it and a cat back exhaust. Decided the audi was boring and needed some rwd in my life and went for a e46 bmw 330i m sport. Then went all vw retro. With all the bad snow i got myself a disco 2 4.0 v8. Good 4x4 but painfully slow. Then back to some more power. Cheers jay.

After having a pretty awfull march and weather had our cars covered in this. It was time to get the xjr back on the road again. First of all was to give it a service and change the alternator belt and supercharger belt. Taking the old belts off was easy, however putting the new charger drive belt on was quite tough, certainly tighter going on than it was coming off. Belt maybe stretched a little? Get it all cleaned up and back on the road again to the tune of a couple of hundred quid and road tax. Pictured at my work. Managed to do a 0-60 mph test aswell and being as accurate as i can it seems to be 4.9-5.0 seconds to the 60,which isnt bad for a 1.6 tonne car with 370 bhp through the rear wheels. Problem is getting the traction down.

Nice, very nice, also very similar to one of my old mans: He's had a few bits done, and the ivory interior

I need one of these in my life, maybe when my 3.2S dies of old age I'll have saved up enough. Sounds like you get more MPG than my XJ40 too!
