Does it have the become a kit car on a Q plate now then?
It probably would get a Q http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSell...The points table suggests that it could possibly retain the Evo number plate if it has used enough original pieces - all suspension, front and rear axles, transmission and steering assembly from one vehicle are enough to retain its original number. However, it looks like the 'cut and shut' paragraph overrides that.
The c2 had been cat D a few years ago then repaired but then the auto gearbox broke, which was hardly worth repairing,it was owned by a friend and a local garage offered them £300 for it soo the friend offered it to me for the same price,i did wonder what i was going to do with it first thought was type R engine but fwd, then thought engine in the boot, but i had a nice evo 5 as a weekend car and thought this would go well if it was a bit lighter soo hatched a plan got the tape measure out bought another evo the white one in the start of the thread and got cutting

I thought that initially, then I thought it's 4, which was the poor relation, then I thought SWB Evo, which I bet is a laugh a minute to drive.
Not sure I'd have picked a C2 I have to say. Pug 205 with a T16 kit for me.
The Evo IV may be considered a 'poor relation' to the almighty Evo VI, but it is still an amazing car in it's own right and a damn shame to see one destroyed in this manner. It would have been better if this had been a great restoration project, rather than just bunging the Evo engine in some tatty French shell. Not sure I'd have picked a C2 I have to say. Pug 205 with a T16 kit for me.
