Good stuff. Was a passenger in one of those beasts around the ring a couple of years back. Very rare, good luck and don't give up!

My first job was to try and remove some of the water from the footwell, using a combination of the glass on page 1, and newspaper.

The second job was to start trying to clean the interior a bit. It was pretty minging.

After quite a few of these...

It started to look a bit better. The tapedeck was an added bonus. Shame the face is missing.

I also removed the rest of the headlining.

From this

To this

I then gave this pillar a wee bit of polish, and it came up surprisingly well

Then I got hungry.

NOTE THAT THIS IS PROBABLY DANGEROUS AND IT'S AT YOUR OWN RISK you can use a Dyson to vacuum up water - it's how I emptied the spare wheel well on my Mondeo when I put a 2 litre bottle of water in the boot with the lid loose. Just don't let it get too full.

Yep. Drop me a PM. A small donation towards the new wheels would be appreciated.

I dont tink he wanted to let it go that cheap lol

Well done I nearly bought an mi16 4x4 about two weeks ago for similar money of the one i just posted but couldnt bring myself to do it... wish i had now frown

It was a 405 TD that took me and some friends around Europe on the Scally Rally so I have a massive soft spot for these things smile

That side stripe looks a bit damaged. Plenty of patience and a hairdrier will remove it. Have a good look to check that it hasn't been previusly painted up to the strip though!

PhillipM, would you like to provide my car with new shoes? I was offered some in the other thread, but have not received pictures of them.

That looks identical to the one i had 5/6 yrs ago, even down to the issue with the door, roof lining and out of place alloys. If you have a set of locking nuts on there with one slightly rounded of then it definitly is (previous owner never supplied the key i never removed them before i flogged it)

Great cars i have had two of them so far and would love to have another, couple of points i would be wary of:

Check whether it has the electronic abs these are meant to have a fail safe, mine just tried to kill me, rip the thing out if it goes wrong and the pedal box and servo from a TD is a direct swap.
Both of mine suffered from fuel starvation if there was less than quarter of a tank and your pushing it around corners, so keep it topped up,

Good to see another being kept alive might be french but when it hits full power at 6500 rpm there great fun to drive. Have fun!
