Glad you got them.
Just been in the garage and found the centre caps.
Assuming you want them I'll post them to you.

Are you the owner of an 18 year old Peugeot?

Good going OP, following this thread with interest and looking forward to seeing it restored and back on the road.

Now you have me checking the classifieds again after 3 years away from Mi16 ownership!

Came across this today:

http://motoring.friday-ad.co.uk/guildford/used-car...

Unfortunately i dont have enough space at the moment for a project (and the missus would shoot me) might be a good spares car if you need panels or trim etc.

Nothing. I have been really busy with work this last few days. Hopefully it will be collected this week, and then we can get underneath it and see the wood for the trees.

I did manage to stumble across a MI16x4 this weekend that has been sat outside a garage for some time, so might see if I can raid it for some parts.

This evening Rich and I decided to get the 405 down to Southways so we can have a proper look and decide the best plan of action. Whilst waiting for him to arrive I removed the door card to fix the drivers door

We then loaded it into the impressive trailer

But this wasn't a good sign

After a bit of faffing about, we finally had it up on the ramps

Once on the ramps it was time to take a look. We didn't like what we saw.

Note the excellent condition metal where the underseal has been removed

And the sill has gone too

Being brutally honest, both Rich and I were utterly shocked to see the underside of the car in this state. In my opinion this is not normal on a late 80/early 90's car, regardless of the jokes etc. The chassis rails are crumbling away, the sill has gone on one side, the other is starting to go. The jacking points are a mess as it the front subframe. The rear isn't much better. The floors also look very suspect, and would require further investigation.

I do believe this car may have spent the last 8 years parked in a swamp. The eBay add stated no structural rot. I beg to differ.

As you can see, this car has turned from a recommissioning into a full on restoration, and I do not have the time nor the money to be able to commit to that, so unfortunately, it is time for the 405 to meet its maker. I am going to salvage what I can, to try and recoup some of my outlay.

I knew purchasing this car was a massive gamble. On this occasion it hasn't come off. Maybe next time it will.

Shame to see.

Your 206 GTi no longer has a bonnet either!!

On the plus side, 1500 miles later, it's still going strong....
