How do,

just collected my S2 Rallye last night
decided to go for one after my mate jimbo had had and S1 and loved it, tryed to get one as standard as possible, this is getting harder now as only 500 imported originally, and most have either had the 16v gti engine conversion or been made into road/track cars or rally cars.
only mods are stainless pugsport and decat exhaust, braided hoses and an air horn.
after a quick blat home from picking it up and my commute to work this morning, loving both the handling and the looks you get as a 106 surprises people.
pictures from last night.

+1, the 106 remains the only car I've ever driven where I could hit all three pedals at once if I was wearing chunky shoes.

But heel and toe is a total doddle - I learnt to do it in my old 106GTI smile

Can't wait to see it at the weekend boss! Really looking forward to hearing the pugsport again.

I learned heel and toe-ing in these, it's difficult not to.

I have a 106 GTI and I regularly have to drive in just socks depending on my choice of footwear.

Im a size 11 but know people with size 9 who also have problems aswell.

Great car and as others have said glad you can get used to the pedals

I am a size 12 and my mate had a 106 GTi I desperately wanted one but after 5 attempts at driving his and hitting any of the 3 pedals at any given time it wasnt practical

Looks like you have a nice example there though OP love the steels on these

I nearly purchased one in 2003, a little underpowered in standard form but the driving experience was sublime. It just felt so right, perhaps because at the time I had a 205. Everyso often I wander onto the 106rallye forum and look at the 16v cars for sale - seriously tempting toy...

Lovely motor! I do love the bark of the 8v but the 16v is 25% up on power! Doesn't sound too bad either.

Indigo blue is the choice of winners, but then I am a little bias. ;-)

must say yours looks good too ponk. cheers for all the love, am liking it more and more. just a few niggles that need sorting out such as a slight misfire hopefully new plugs and/or H/T leads will sort this. a mate has offered to sort out some of the messy wiring out in the engine bay too. another plus is that it is also wired for sound once again. which is nice.

A fine choice! thumbup
I've been using mine as a daily for 3 years and I love it. I've been considering a pugsport in the near future but not sure how much I would love/hate the noise on the times when I'm not 'on it' so I'd be interested to know how you get on with it

The Pugsport is essential. The rasp is addictive! If you still have the interior it's not too intrusive on a motorway run.
