a load of jealous, ignorant buttst
Wow, some people really need to get some perspective on life. If you don't like it, GTFO.

Decent first car OP, treat it respectfully and insurance companies will reward you with access to quicker stuff! I drove my first car for three years but by the time I had finished with it, I had my Caterham !

That's an amazing first car!.
Yep, Corsa 1.0's are pretty amazing, wouldn't expect anyone to get one as a first car!

Aren't these like 60hp and 1200kg lol?

hardly jealous little gobste, when I work hard for everything I buy and own. I have a nice car, house ,possessions every single one of them I have honestly earned without it being thrust in front of me by mummy and daddy. I went to uni and worked my bks off to get where I am today. I know people that got everything hand;t to them on a plate and now they can't stand on their own or do anything for themselves always paying other people to do even the basic things in life.So as a result they have fk all value of money and are in a mountain of debt.
You just sound like a proper cock with that post smile

The full post stinks of jealousy... you done yourself no favours by posting it. So what if the kids parents bought him the car? Whats the point in working hard all your life if you can't treat your kids when you want to? At least that car is going to have all the modern safety features a £50 snotter isn't going to have.

Anyway on topic... good luck OP! Looks like a great little car to start off with. Its ideal to get some real world driving experience in a car like that... its not a disaster if you have any minor bumps in it and its not powerful enough to be likely to cause them in the first place smile All round a good starting point I think!

I'm sure anyone over the age of 25 will agree, a first car with ABS, PAS, electronic fuel injection and 5 gears is practically luxurious and a fairly amazing piece of kit to start your motoring life with.

I even think 60hp is a fair amount for a ecobox 1.0! Wasn't long ago that cars with small engines would struggle to get up a long hill.

Nice one!

Trying to insure anything when you're young is a pain - I passed my test 4 years ago at 18 and it cost me just over £1300 to insure a 1998 1.2 clio (bought for me by mother, thanks mum!). Her help allowed me to travel back and forth to my first job and build up my experience, I paid her back and 4 years with no claims later i've just bought a Mk5 Golf R32 (myself) and i'm paying £1190 to insure it!
