Well my Agila is going to help my younger brother to learn to drive, so I've purchased another car. I know it won't be to most of your tastes, but I've had a hankering for a Rover with chrome and wood bits for a while, so I've scratched it. It's a 45 Impression S3 1.8. It belonged to an old boy who has sadly passed away, and I bought it from the garage that originally sold it when it was new & maintained it over the last 9 years, and 58000 miles. The exterior has some parking scrapes, but looks smart and giving it a good wash and polish will make it tons better. Inside it's basically as new with a little bit of wear to the backrest of the driver's seat, but nothing apart from that. It's had the cambelt / headgasket / waterpump / aux belt / tensioners / thermostat replaced within the last 5k miles, but will be due its MOT in September. It will need a back box as it's blowing a little bit, but it looks like I can get one for £40 from eBay. Aside from that it's all good. It's got (working) aircon, heated leather seats, heated and powered mirrors, power windows, rear parking sensors (factory fit). Really pleased with it. Some pictures:

Is it spot the difference?
Looks like it was a good buy, lots of toys and cheap to run. I like it!

That looks like a cracking buy. For all the naysayers, the old 400/45 wasn't a bad car, it was just a bit long in the tooth design wise. I hope you get plenty of stress free happy mileage in it.

I really do admire your efforts. I don't think I could change from a (very nice) Lexus IS to a this via the Laguna, Agila so I think you deserve a medal. No need to go into reasons why, as you told me on previous threads. At least it has leather and I do like the steering wheels on Rovers for some reason. ...just do not overtake an Audi.

Thanks guys. It's actually not bad to drive!
Does anyone know how to operate the headlight washers? Or do they just squirt with the windscreen washers?

Top shedding; I had a 416 SLi, chassis wasn't great but the K-series was a peach; yours should be much better to drive.
Usually if headlights are on and screen is washed then the headlamp wash will activate.

Usually if headlights are on and screen is washed then the headlamp wash will activate. Right, will see if it happens! It's great to drive. It hustles along nicely, and beats the Astra 2.0 DTi I had a while back. I think the figures are 9.3 to 60 or something of that ilk. Engine is really smooth right around the rev range. When it's warm and idling, it's very quiet indeed. EDIT : Glad to report that headlamp washer do work!

Just has a thought - keep an eye on the coolant level in the coolant bottle! Make sure it's topped up as the K Series really doesn't like it when the level drops.

Or it could be the case that the headlight washers will only work when you have the headlights turned on and run the windscreen washers....

Will keep an eye on all levels. Going to give it a full service anyway. It's only done 5000 since the last one, but it was 10 months ago. Will do the lot. This one is a keeper for the moment. Just been out and got some leather conditioner into the front seats / steering wheel / gaitors. Will do the back when I've cooled down a bit. 25.5'c here, but cloudy!
