Checked Admiral multi-car, much cheaper on most other cars I tried it with thanks, still got quoted about £4000 for a 1.6 MX5 though! Guess that's out of the question, booooo! frown

Nice one you got there though biggrin

Have you tried specialist websites?

Specialist young drivers or specialist for MX5? I've looked at a few specialist young drivers, they're no better if not worse generally.

Wow, would've loved that as a first car!

Only one real problem now - any car you replace it with will be a disappointment! You've kinda spoilt yourself by getting one from the off!

Sound choice.

I cant be the only person wondering about these MK5 with carb engines, never heard of them myself. Thought it was 1.6Inj or 1.8Inj

I got the same frown tried classic insurance but no one would quote me because I'm under 25. Have you been a named driver on a car?

Thanks! That's true! not sure where I'll go from here. My original plan was to hold off buying a car until I turn 19 and then buying a 225 TT but I decided I wanted something for summer and I'm so glad I've brought this now with the current weather smile

Sorry, that's what my insurers said. Should have guessed it wasn't true! aha

Agreed! biggrin It feels very different to the FWD astra down lanes and no doubt I'll notice every more when the roads are wet!

Wow, that's lovely! Would love mine to look like that! Aha
I was thinking of moving my front number plate to the side, but having to fill the old holes and respray the bumper could be a pain

I will be doing the same when funds allow. The blocky number plate really does ruin the look of the front of the car IMO. That or a sticky one, I'm undecided.
I think the stick on one looks best.

I agree the front number plate ruins it a bit! Haven't seen one with a sticker front plate before scratchchin

Just added my first ever PH smiley to a car! Wasnt too sure where to put it but I'm pretty pleased with it smile

Maybe until you can get the holes filled in the bumper you can remove the holder and just screw the plate directly into the fixings, tidies it up a bit and gets rid of the ugly plastic holder, did this to mine before getting the bumper done smile

Heres a stick on plate for reference -

Got a few little jobs that need doing on the car so I think I'm going to get a workshop manual smile Think I'll go for a Haynes manual but if anyone has any other suggestions for other manuals they have used then that would be much appreciated smile
