Here I go again.... Citroen XM luxo-barge content

Some of you might remember my 405 that turned out to be little more than a pile of French rust. Since that didn't work out, I have been hunting for something more sensible. I have now found it.
I have the cash out ready
My train ticket is booked for 7am tomorrow from Southampton central and I'm going to....Ipswich! I shall document my journey for you all tomorrow and you can all enjoy my Saturday jaunt. It will involve an early alarm, several trains, an underground and a several cars.
Wish me luck.

I remember reading that one a few weeks ago - I know it turned out bad! What a shame!
What did you do to shift it? Break it up and sell off the non-rusty parts or scrap as a whole?
I sold it whole, for £100 more than I paid for the car, which covered half the transport costs. I lost out around £100 in the end. What did you do to shift it? Break it up and sell off the non-rusty parts or scrap as a whole?

Excellent, another adventure! i take it you will be driving this one home rather then wussing out and having it shipped?
Yes, driving it home. It has tax and MOT, which is a bonus!TheLordJohn said:

It's not the Porsche 924 I wanted but sold is it?
Doubt it, the idea for the 405 if i remeber correctly was cheap family transport to save the GTA some miles, wouldnt use a 924 for the family haul myselfS10GTA said:

thanks mate, i'll have a read.LOVED the GTA. it was stunning.
Good luck with the trip. A couple of years ago I did (almost) the reverse journey - Norwich to Southampton with a stack of folding in my hand to see an absolutely mint (or so it said) E30. It was an early chrome bumpered 323i and was absolutely what I wanted. It wasn't sadly as promised and I still only just managed to walk away.
Learn the lesson from the Pug and be prepared to walk if all is not spot on - there are plenty of good cars out there at decent money if you have a bit of patience.
I'll be another checking back tomorrow to see how you get on
