It's funny. My parents don't get Citroens with their "hydroelastic" suspension. Can we swap parents?
Not for swapping I'm afraid. He is a daft old bugger, likes his cars a little left field, he is keeping an eye out for another CX 25 GTi Turbo as he regrets selling the last one. Just needs to convince my mum that a seventh car is really necessary.

Now im a Citroen cynic , and I don't actually think it is to a 'Gallic lover' given how much you could spend sorting one

It's also a late car, looking very 'chic' in white which is no doubt very rare as it was totally out of fashion back then

That white one is massively over priced, especially as it was sold for 2k a few weeks ago.

To the dealer I presume?

Given his a dealer, who obviously wants to make a profit, is a £1200 spread less VAT etc so massive?

... Not like there's another one just around the corner to compare!

As always worth what someone's prepared to put their hand in the pocket and pay, so we'll see how overpriced it is, in the land of BMW and Mercedes 'classic specialists' they'd want a damn sight more than £1200 across a car, they'd want at least £2-3k, photograph it very well and sit back and wait

It's a bit steep. If it was a ph1 V6 24v manual then maybe. But the ph2 looks naff compared with the ph1 anyway. It's like a mental, wacky design which they've tried to Peugeot-ise and make it more mainstream. Doesn't work.

Today for a change I went down to a local car show, called Gosporteers. It's an annual event, every Aug bank holiday. I paid my fiver and went into the event, along with a friend in his BX and Tony in his tamora.

We all parked in family cars 91 onwards. We had a good look round then I got a bit bored, so I waxed my car and the BX.

Each segment is judged and my XM was awarded best in class. The BX was runner up, and the tamora wad disqualified.

I had to go and collect a trophy too.

We were the only 3 cars in that segment...

That fixed me smile

Been out in the XM today and the ride at the front is still hard, the rear is intermittently hard. I drove over to my new XM friend John who owns 10 XM's in various states of decay and we fitted a known working suspension ECU (a test unit)...What a difference! This has narrowed it down to my suspension ECU being on the brink causing a good proportion, if not all, of my hard ride issues.

John is rather old school and a bit eccentric (as a good majority of Citroen owners seem to be). He is planning on driving XM's till he dies which is why he has so many. He has a lockup full of spare parts (and cars) and is going to strip down and repair a spare ECU he has and will take mine in exchange. Hopefully this will be done this week before the big XM/Xantia rally next weekend smile

Wish I knew the reg of our Estate... Just know it was on an L. Wonder if it's still around, it was brand new when we got it and it leaked like a sieve in the boot and two/three year old me could dismantle and reassemble the nearside rear interior door handle.
