I've driven both and think it would. If you make the swift up to the same price as the clio by adding power, some suspension and brakes they would be good matches.
The thing is there arent enough companys out there doing decent power upgrades, i get emails from monster sport developments http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Monster-Sport-Europe & http://www.monster-sport.com/e/car/zc32s.html. Some nice stuff but its mega money. I would be very interested in driving a turbo/supercharged swift and im surprised Suzuki have never tried it. Theres an old model swift somewhere thats been turbo'd and is around 250bhp i believe.Hoygo said:

If you add power to an escort cosworth* same as a Mclaren Mp4 12c add some suspension and brakes they would be good matches. The thing applies to every car on the planet.*

Are these honestly a match in a straight line compared to a 182 cup?
Are they a lot quicker than a 197 as these are looking a great bargain now?
There is nothing in it between any of them. I've 'compared performance' with 172s, 182s and 200s and there is no noticeable difference between any of them. Are they a lot quicker than a 197 as these are looking a great bargain now?
Chief, there's no noticeable difference in straight line performance between the 1*2's to the 197-200
Theyre all pretty equal, it's the handling/ brakes and chassis is where all the difference is.
My 172 wouldnt come close to my 200's in handling/brakes standard vs standard.
Brilliant cars
Quick trip up the BlackMountains on the weekend
Feeling like it could do with a subtle boot spoiler, not the cup one

Find a gordini bootlid/spoiler and get it painted? (can't remember if they are one solid piece)
You can't retrofit a GT spoiler, from what I've heard. You need to buy a new boot lid and get it sprayed, or if you're pretty lucky you might find one in the same colour. Either way it's a pretty expensive way of buying a spoiler!matt1269 said:
Out of interest, why December? I ordered one last week and because none are being made I could only choose from the remaining stock so will be here this week.
...interesting point, thank you. I was told that was when it would be ready - the first week of December - time for a phone call to the garage me thinks!Hoink said:

Having spoke to the garage they claim they are still waiting on a delivery date and will give me a ring when they get this confirmed. I pointed out the predicted delivery time, and the turnaround time in the previous post, but they didn't really say much. Two days in and I'm remembering why I hated dealing with Renault the last time round
