Don't think so,

I still doubt a standard 182 would be quicker, 200 can carry a lot more speed through a bend and had better brakes.

Even if a 182 is slightly quicker down a straight, it's not going to pull much of a gap

Where has this 182 quicker down a straight information come from?

Just wondering, isn't the 200 quicker on paper?

I imagine it's because the 182 has a slightly higher power to weight ratio. However, the 200 has a wider torque spread and different gearing, so I'm not sure what the real world difference is.

In my experience, pretty much nothing between the two. I know which I'd rather be driving though.

Edit: And the power to weight ratio is actually in the 200's favor according to most sources, by the way.

Faster on top gear and fifth gear tracks all i know smile But as said think average joe would find it easier to get faster times in the 200 rather than the 182. Why according to top gear and fifth gear is a few 10ths faster no doubt the 200 is far superior as it should be as list price has gradually increased with each iteration.
In terms of straight line speed up too 60/70 200 are quicker due to gearing at hIgher speeds 182 have legs as my mate runs a clio 200 and my heavy 172 from a roll on is identical
172 cup is probably the fastest of the clios in terms of power to weight
Would love a 200 myself just waiting till they are more around the price 197's are currently as the new clio looks st :/

Maybe I'm thinking of the 182 or 172 Cup? I didn't think the 200 had the highest power to weight of the range, anyhow. Confusing smile

Do love me a good sporty Clio, but I don't think I could ever own one - why are their dash's always so bad!
What's wrong with it? It does the job and looks fine IMO.

There was a thread the other day on this, that the last of the 200's may hold their value quite well, being the last 3 door Renaultsport, your average joe isn't going to want a 5 door Clio. The 3 door Focus St is holding value well because more people are buying them as they don't want 5 doors.

Coming back from Le Mans, I had the pleasure of boarding the ferry with these two beasts:

I know the Clio is nearer, but even still just look at the size of it compared to those Ferraris hehe

Is it 100% confirmed that it will only be a 5 door?

Yes, unfortunately. 5 doors only, was released at a motor show.
1.6 turbo and a dsg style auto gearbox.
No more a driver focused car.

Wont notice much sound difference frown but will give you a 1bhp or so gain smile
If want some more noise without a proper k&n could always take a drill to your airbox...
Don't know if you can do the same with the 200 but on my 172 made my own induction kit that linked to the factory cold air feed sounds lovely smile

Don't fancy drilling the 200's air box tbf, Its a new car and just don't want to start cutting things up on a new car.

It'll give a bit more grunt noise, I'll be happy.

I done my fair share to my old 172, so I shouldn't feel the need to do anything to this, nothing drastic anyway.

Just to show you all my previous cars:

To say I like I clean car is a bit of an understatement smile

My 1st car, vauxhall corsa 1.6 sport

Ended up running 145 bhp with some fancy parts and standalone ecu

Then I moved onto a car I have always wanted from a young age, vaux hall nova Sri:

then, took the plunge to be ripped off with insurance at 18, my 172 ph1

Had a few cars In between, but nothing worth mentioning

And now my 200

Something really attracts me to that Nova really looks fantastic and normally hate the things...
And fair enough's regards to airbox be amazed if an insert makes it any louder though tried it on my ZR and 172 and it made no difference whatsoever still a useful modification either way though as does release an extra horse or two.
