The swift sport has a much nicer interior than the 200 and it's about 13K so 3K to get it up to 200bhp sounds about right to me. I think they would still be similarly priced.
Don't forget if you buy one you're going to see the inside of it more than the outside so you want it to be a nice place to be.
Simple solution is to just get the full fat 200 and tick the cup pack option. The interior is no Rolls but it's a nice place to be and there are a good selection gadgets. Weight penalty is negligible and offset slightly if you further spec the recaros. Also the yellow in the seats is is very subtle and looks good with the yellow rev counter and steering wheel centre band thing.Don't forget if you buy one you're going to see the inside of it more than the outside so you want it to be a nice place to be.

Interesting stuff there.
I was looking at these and the 197's for my 21st as well but for me the interior is just terrible and the yellow background in the recaro's made them look dirty.
Such a shame because the engine note is brilliant and the handling's excellent. It's the best hot hatch out there right now for the money i just wish they'd put some effort into the insides of the thing because it's so boringly plastic you'd think it was a 1.2.
Food for thought: If the Suzuki Swift sport had 200bhp it would be top dog.
You can't have everything! People always slate the interior, but they cost about £16k brand new. Would you rather they saved money on fitting smaller brakes? Thinner, lower quality paint? Cheaper engine materials? Of all the places they would scrimp on, I'm glad that they did it on the interior design. If you're going to compare the interior to the Golf, then yes it will be worse because it's about £7.5k cheaper!I was looking at these and the 197's for my 21st as well but for me the interior is just terrible and the yellow background in the recaro's made them look dirty.

If a Suzuki Swift Sport had 200bhp it would probably cost more than the Clio.

I nealy bought an r27 spec'd with them - the yellow seats are great.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the Renault interiors.. Much nicer than fords offerings IMO

They may have been replaced under warranty and the owner requested yellow ones but they definitely weren't standard!
It was at a Renault stealership when the car was about a year and a half old at the time..as seen in this evo pic ^ these seats were an option extra.
So it was just the yellow that wasn't available from new?
Entire interior matched - but possibly like you say whole lot were changed under warranty?
tbh the seats were rather awesome and nearly convinced me to buy the car
We have just bought a 200 cup replacing a 182. The 200 is superior in every imaginable way. It is quicker (haven't even done the magic 623 miles yet so is still in running in period!), has far better handling, has a much better interior and driving position which was dreadful in the 182, is roomier and quieter and in my opinion is better looking. In my eyes, it looks like a real pocket rocket like the original Clio 16v. Especially love it in white with black wheels.
But then, it's easy enough to say supercharge the Clio and it'll be in another league again.
It's more than capable to handle the extra power
It's so easy to compare cars if you could do 'this and that' to the underpowered car.
As they are, a swift could never compare.
If your talking about aftermarket parts, again, you could never compare.

Yes. It would. Think about it, 200bhp and an already great chassis, put some better suspension and brakes on it, the interior is already nicer. It would be very good competition for the renault.
If it needs a bigger power, better suspension and better brakes it's not really the same car is it? The Swift is competion for the Twingo 133.n_const said:
The Swift sport would never compare to a clio 200 even with a turbo/supercharger. I drive a 62 plate sport , its a great little car but nowhere near a clio 200 !!
I've driven both and think it would. If you make the swift up to the same price as the clio by adding power, some suspension and brakes they would be good matches. GokTweed said:

The thing is there arent enough companys out there doing decent power upgrades, i get emails from monster sport developments http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Monster-Sport-Europe & http://www.monster-sport.com/e/car/zc32s.html. Some nice stuff but its mega money. I would be very interested in driving a turbo/supercharged swift and im surprised Suzuki have never tried it. Theres an old model swift somewhere thats been turbo'd and is around 250bhp i believe.GokTweed said:

If you add power to an escort cosworth* same as a Mclaren Mp4 12c add some suspension and brakes they would be good matches. The thing applies to every car on the planet.*
