How do your parents feel about you driving around in a Ferrari 360 whilst they pay to keep a roof over your head?

I admire your drive and ambition, but seems to me your priorities are all wrong.

Your parents are either very chilled and understanding, or soft.
If you have read any of his other threads he has been buying cars, enjoying them for a while then selling them on to try and make a few few quid and from what it seems hes doing a damn good job of it!Hes only young and if he carries on will probabaly be able to buy his first house outright when he decides to or certainly pay for a sizeable chunk of it which is more than can be said for most of the scrotes his age these days!

Enjoy them while you are young mate,I lived at my parents for longer than I probably should have but things haven't turned out too bad.

Yeah I've read his threads, I read about how his parents house was broken into, as theives were looking for keys to his car, I aslo read about how he used his parents garage as a storage for his fishing tackle business, which has helped him along.

I'm not knocking his efforts, but I'd like to meet his mum and dad. How parents in the 'real world' would be happy with their son prancing around in a Ferrari whilst living at home.

Great, if you can live at home for ages, but it's not really living in the real world is it.....

Pretty sure OP has his own house? Can't be still living with parents?
No living with parents. But it's ok because he will be able to buy his own house soon. (Thanks to his parents keeping a roof over his head whilst he makes a small fortune.)

So what if the guy lives at home?

Does everyone have to buy a house, have kids and get a mortgage around their neck at a certain age?

Jealous. Thats most people's problem. Your young once. Sod what people say mate, let them think what they like, its their problem not yours.

Ah ok..that will certainly cut down the costs then. OP is very lucky to have such supportive parents!

edit: Just ignore some of the negative posts here OP. They are probably jealous they failed to do what you are able to achieve. I am well jealous as well but in a good way smile I hope I could be as successful like you one day!

Jealous, no. I drove a Ferrari 360, then an Audi R8, the Audi R8 out classed the Ferrari in every way. Yeah sod your parents, you enjoy your toy. Grow up and get in the real world.

Not everyone has to have a mortgage and kids, but that's what happens in life, just think it takes the piss that he's flashing about, whilst living at home with mum and Dad.

I tell you what, move out, pay rent/ a mortgage, council tax, bills, food etc, make a profit on cars and still drive a Ferrari, then I'll be impressed.

As I've always said, I applaud his drive, and he clearly knows what he's doing, but at the end of the day, he's got a lot to thank his parents for....

And I don't get why everyone has to jump to his defence? If he's man enough to show off, he's man enough to take some criticism!

Parents are supposed to be supportive, that is kind of the whole point of them. The people I know who were made to leave home by their parents at an early age and get a stty job and rent a council flat are still there now.
The ones with 'supportive parents' who let them stay at home,go uni and save up to put a deposit on a house are now doing considerably better.
Its a shame this thread has headed in this direction.Keep doing what you are doing OP,you are doing the right thing and enjoying yourself along the way.

Just ignore all the nay sayers, they just smack of one thing........and its a crue, cruel mistress.

A small fortune that will no doubt go on a deposit he may otherwise not be able to afford?

Stop being such a cock.

There's being supportive, and then there's being soft. So you think it's acceptable, that his parents' house was broken into as a result of him having a flashy car on the drive. Some would say, that would have given most people a wake up call!

I started buying and selling cars when I was 19 and now have my own successful car dealership, BUT, I still did it when I moved out when I was 18, didn't end up in a council house or in a dead end job, so it is still possible with the right attitude!
As I've said all along, I admire his drive, and don't knock him for what he has done, good on him, he's a good example to others, but when you look at economies of scale, driving a Ferrari, whilst living under your parents roof is a bit extreme!

And unfortunately, in life, you can't ignore negative things, and just listen to positive things, when you're 5 perhaps.

How about trying to give a balanced argument instead of posting foul language.

Congrats mate! Looks awesome.

It's amazing to see just how many people struggle to come to terms just how simple what you are doing is. It's just that you obviously have a gift for it.

I have tried to 'buy to sell' with classic and failed. I put it down to trading with something i am so emotionally involved with. I now with some success do it with caravans. No chance of emotional involvement there!
I heard there's tons of money in old kitesurfing kit.

Ironic coming from the guy who has a Caterham in his garage..........

............which belongs to his Dad.

I'm clearly out numbered on this thread by kids with soft parents.

I feel sorry for tranter5. He posts his latest addition and his pride and joy, and a certain poster is bieng an idiot about how he thinks he should live his life. I couldn't care where he lives, this is Pistonheads, not Location Location!

Life has no rule book and tranter5 seems to be enjoying his life, and isn't that what everyone wants. smile

This has just turned comical now and ridiculous on a forum which is meant to be about cars!

My parents don't like the idea I am now looking to move out now my studies are over as I am the MAIN contributor to the household bills, I am trying not to get pissed off but when I have friends that have mega rich parents paying for brand new cars for them and letting them live home board free whilst they are in £25k + jobs it makes my blood boil. When I move out I am going to contribute to the bills still as my mum only works part time. Ive just paid for them to go on a 2 week cruise in December... how many people my age have done that for their parents. I feel its really ridiculous how some people can be on here when the focal point is meant to be on cars. The forum never used to be like this its clearly now allowing people that just want to slate others efforts. Its nice to tell what I have done as I get volumes of emails off others just starting uni saying its given them the drive to want to do similar, something which this country desperately needs now!
