How do your parents feel about you driving around in a Ferrari 360 whilst they pay to keep a roof over your head?

I admire your drive and ambition, but seems to me your priorities are all wrong.

Your parents are either very chilled and understanding, or soft.
you sound hilariously boring. fk off and winge on someone elses post. god forbid his parents love him and don't mind helping him out.

OP ignore the people questioning how youve got your cars, and your parents opinion. Its really not worth the effort to reply to them.

Back on topic, being a car forum smile I had a look through the cases youve had an I really do congratulate you! Really well done, I'm extremely jealous to say the least wink how does the 360 compare to the previous cars, especially the GTR? Does it feel slow? (not that it is - but having been in one, it blew my socks off!).

Your one looks like a fantastic spec, the seats are brilliant too, and nice to see a Ferrari With the proper (IMO) manual gearbox rather than a flappy paddle box. Has it got the standard exhaust or an after market? I hear Capristo ad Tubi are very nice biggrin

I was lucky enough a few months ago to go in a 360 just like yours (manual spider) around Dunsfold at The Supercar Event on the parade lap, the owner took the traction control off and managed to spin the back a bit biggrin excellent fun indeed.

Enjoy! biggrin

This has just turned comical now and ridiculous on a forum which is meant to be about cars!

My parents don't like the idea I am now looking to move out now my studies are over as I am the MAIN contributor to the household bills, I am trying not to get pissed off but when I have friends that have mega rich parents paying for brand new cars for them and letting them live home board free whilst they are in £25k + jobs it makes my blood boil. When I move out I am going to contribute to the bills still as my mum only works part time. Ive just paid for them to go on a 2 week cruise in December... how many people my age have done that for their parents. I feel its really ridiculous how some people can be on here when the focal point is meant to be on cars. The forum never used to be like this its clearly now allowing people that just want to slate others efforts. Its nice to tell what I have done as I get volumes of emails off others just starting uni saying its given them the drive to want to do similar, something which this country desperately needs now!
Well said mate. I've got lots of respect for what you've achieved and, more importantly, nice car! Keep it up, i always look forward to hearing about your latest purchase, this is exactly what PH is about.

If your son was Tranter5, would you
A) Tell him move out?
B) Support him in his (big) ambitions, by letting him get his ambitions off the ground?
C) Wish he would be less ambitious?
D) Tell him to get a grip and buy a 1.1D Punto?

I bet his parents breathe a sign of relief when they hear the dancing donkey (sorry :-))roll into the drive each evening.
Tranter5; good stuff, keep up the good work and please keep us updated on progress (good and not so good)!

OP, I apologise if I caused offence in my post I really meant no disrespect or anything bad, Back to the cars,

So the GTR was written off, does that mean some scrap man will be driving around in a GTR full of body filler?

How long are you looking at keeping the 360? and how can you make money on this? what do you look for when buying a car to make money on in a private sale?

Whats next on the list? Surely must be a Aston Martin or a Lambo?

i am not jealous, i am skeptical

I have driven and do drive different cars every day of every week

Ferrari's , Lambos, Maserati's etc

and the tax issue is irrelevant

If he's earning and making enough to upgrade every 6 months

then I think I would have a deposit on a house

clap Good man, there seems to be alot of jealousy in this thread now. Tranter is doing what he loves and has never come on here showing off, he's always come across as a decent guy doing well in his career. These threads have suddenly taken a very strange turn since he bought a Ferrari. Incredible.

Fella, you're honestly telling people waaay too much information, next you'll be saying when your house is going to be empty for the 2 weeks they go on the cruise..if it isnt about your car don't even answer the cynics. You're not proving them wrong, you're just driving them further to go to greater distances to prove something is not right.

Who gives a flying fk if his parents have gave him a hand up? I don't.

Dan has obviously worked hard and spunked his cash on being a petrolhead instead of pissing it up the wall and I applaud him for this.

There really are some bitter resentful people on here who really need to concentrate on their own lives instead of berating the success of a young man at every turn.

Dan carry on as you were mate.

Forget FELIX5, he is an idiot. Just remember Dan, you know your situation better than anyone and you are an inspiration to me and has motivated me to have big(ger) dreams that I had and I know they are achievable with the right mindset. Credit to you! That is all I am saying on the subject.

Back to the Ferrari though, do you think the F1 'box would have given you a wider audience when selling or is the potential profit so slim that it doesn't really matter?! Looks great in red! smile

The topic on what is it like compared to the GTR, well the GTR in my opinion is the benchmark in performance cars if you want a car to get from A-B as quickly as possible nothing touches the GTR I was astonished by its capabilities. Its the only car Ive had that was that quick around the lanes I always go it made a few of my freinds feel physically sick it had that much grip!!! I will own another as a daily driver in the future they are epic...

BUT the ferrari just makes me feel that much better, walking up to it I am stunned by its presence, waiting for the ignition check before firing it up feels great and the noise not only when taking it to 8000rpm through a tunnel even cruising at 2500-3000 rpm makes the hairs stand up on my neck! I know and feel that the 360 isnt as quick as the GTR but most of my passengers so far think it does feel quicker which I think is down to the noise and how low down you are. The brakes on the Ferrari are much better than I expected so is the build quality.

I opted for the manual as I drove an F1 last year and it just felt such old technology especially after driving the GTR which its rapid changes. I just love the noise of going into gear in the slots! I think a manual ferrari is more appealing than an F1 box but I suppose I will have to see what response I get when selling it!

Thanks for the kind words of others, lets try and stay on topic now as others have said this has gone way off the thread compared with other posts I have done!

You only live once mate, you’re young once, you got the rest of your live to buy houses. Way to many jealous people out there, it’s actually quite embarrassing. Why bother buying a house and spending all the savings and settling for something okay and blowing the car (business) budget when you can drive round in Ferraris hang on a few more years and buy the house you really want a still have money to trade with?! He obviously looks after his parents and shows appreciation to them so everyone’s a winner!

I'd rather walk out the front door of my parents house to my Ferrari 360 than out the door of my own house to a stty 1.1 Fiesta.

O/P can you answer the brake caliper question I posted earlier it is affecting my OCD.

Really has aged well the 360. Always thought it looked good but nowadays it looks amazing.

Lovely example too.
Still like the 355 better. Seen one parked up in Lboro in the industrial estate near B&Q. It was all marked up in yellow marker so I assume getting some body/paint work done. They had a 360 coupe in as well (may of been the garage owners) but it looks a bit bloated in comparison. The 355 is pretty dinky! but looks lean and chiselled.

Would have both of them if offered to me though!

How is that on a news website? Did the guy phone the local papers himself? Cringeworthy to say the least...

I'm sorry but this thread and that 'news' article confirm he's basically just showing off..I said before I really don't think it's necessary to state your age/how well your business is doing/ blah blah if you don't want anyone to comment on it...(FELIX is an absolute tool though)

I know i'll probably get some responses staying i'm jealous, but believe me i'm not. wink

So if you were approached by magazines and newspapers because they are interested and see that your car is worthy of a story, would you turn them down?! Anyway, let's try and keep this about the car as Dan wanted.
