Properly awesome, what you doing about the we bit of missing trim beside the wheel arch, filling it in?

Are you going to colour code the black trim? I think would look good on wheel arches, even if you leave the other trim black.

RS Audi's have huge flared arches, looks awesome!

That looks great!

Despite my earlier comments / reservations, you've executed it exceptionally well, sir.

Any chance of lending this to Chris Harris so he can do a video road test?

Fill in the bit of missing trim and colour code and blend the arches. Will look brilliant!

Not too sure Harris would be too bothered with this kind of thing after seeing all the fun he has in various Ferrari/Bugatti/McLaren etc

Thanks everyone for the positive comments on the wheel arches

Work has been slowly progressing on the car but not very much to show at the moment , I got tired of making small brackets etc by hammering material clamped between blocks of wood so I did make up a small vice mounted bender/folder for home and intend making another one for use on larger pieces.

I started by turning down 2 M10 bolts so they would fit in some tubing I had , these would then make 2 basic heavy duty hinges

Then machined out the 2 main pieces of the folder to accept the 'hinges'

I forgot to take any pics after this point until I had finished , but as you can see the rest was pretty simple , just involving some more tubing as handles and as a point to be able to hold it in a vice . The only other part is some angle (with nuts welded to it )to clamp the workpiece down . It folds steel and aluminium up to 2 mm thick and 200mm wide with ease , I intend making its 'big brother' to accept 600mm wide

I have removed the rather large twin fan set-up from the Espace I have which I intend fitting to Lexspace to keep things nice and cool when necessary

Hoping to use the folder to make brackets to get these fitted soon

It is good to see that others find it necessary to buy/build the tools they need to make a quality job and also speed up the build process.

I have gradually accumulated a number of pieces of equipment over the last 2 years and it makes life easier and the finished product better with the right tools.

Don't under estimate the leverage required for the larger model you plan to build. I have had to bolt my 4ft folder to the floor to bend 2mm x 3ft wide steel sheet or it would tip over!!!

I finally got the other rear wheel arch fitted yesterday , but no photos as the rain came and I had a frantic rush to get everything packed away .
Also I got all the Espace electric windows and central locking motors working yesterday too, all being operated by lexus wiring , as a bonus the remote keyfob from the lexus now works too , I don't remember it working before ??
Started making a list of 'the last few jobs' to do , hmmm it's bigger than I thought , but they are all jobs that need doing

Another non update really , I have been working on the electrics and engine bay sealing , here are the before photos - rather a tangled mess , I hope to have some 'after' photos in a couple of weeks .

I have read about the SVM Qashqai before but after seeing that it had attended vmax200 recently I had another read up on it ( 207mph on a runway grabbed my attention !! Which incidentally is the same speed as a laferrari and a veyron managed on the same day !!)
Built in very much the same way as mine -as this pic shows ...

The price if you want one - £275,000 !!!
I personally really like it , perfect for the family with the performance of a hypercar, I'm just approx £270,000 short lol

Here is the full build thread for anyone interested http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/175782-svm-release-proj...
