Skyrover, this will be an eye opener for you - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azPKIjxmmdU
Very interesting, I didn't know this type of info was available - I was thinking at least 10bhp down, albeit none of the dents were that deep.it was my impression that engines need some form of exhaust system to get the exhaust gasses out of the engine quicker.
a wider pipe doesn't necessarily mean you get the gasses out quicker.
when i was watching the vid, all my brain was telling me was that 1. with only a manifold/header you won't be getting the best performance from the engine and 2. by "narrowing" the manifold/header there was an acceleration of gasses past the narrowing.
i think the test would have provided better understanding if the engine had a decent exhaust system first.

At first glance they appear to be very restrictive, but assuming the exhaust maintains sufficient velocity through them i'm sure they are fine.
Like you said, if they were fitted to a high horsepower motor with no ill effect than carry on
Right. We need to stop posting on this thread either commenting on how amazing/crazy the build is or when will there be another update.
I can't take the disappointment of seeing this thread at the top of the page only to find out it's a comment along the lines of the above.
Lexspace, over to you.
