I'm actually quite fond of these, since driving a friends' to Cornwall a couple of months back. Definitely a fair bit of poke from the 2.0 and they feel nice and comfortable. Good purchase for a reasonable sized diesel, i'd say!

The wheels really transforms your car from an average audi to a really nice, subtle looking car.

Any plans for a remap?

I love the wheels and the s-line bits. I'm not sure about remaps, I've read too many stories about DPF failures and remaps with them in place are pointless etc..

Nice car. I drive a lot of these at work and the interior has a real quality feel. Steering is a bit light for my tastes in these modern Audi's but they are very smart smile

It's not just the wheels... it has the sporty s3-looking S-Line bumpers too..

Very nice Lee - how does it compare to the 540i? Do you miss it at all? I miss my old E39s frown

Thinking about an E36 M3 next though once I've saved a few pennies smile

Comparing to the 540i is like chalk and cheese! They are so different!! So I won't even try..

I thought you have an e39 M5? Where'd that go?

I'm not thinking about next cars seriously yet.. was just something about the Audi though that made me want it. I tried the 1 series and the mk5 golf before going for the Audi.

Sold the M5 a couple of months ago, as it was costing quite a lot to run and I had a bit of debt I wanted to pay off. Plus I had no money in the bank really, so if anything went wrong with it, I'd have to borrow even more money to have it fixed! Not a good situation to be in really, so I decided enough was enough.

Sold it, bought a 1994 Clio 1.8 16v for £900 with £675 insurance (M5 was £1500 to insure!!) and now I've got some money in the bank. Would like something nicer eventually, but whatever I get I'm going to buy outright this time, so I'm not living in debt smile

Nice, I spent Tuesday batting around in a silver 12-plate Sportback 140 Sport S-Tronic. Loved it, 1500-2500 through 2nd, 3rd and 4th was pretty epic, twin clutcher is brilliant. Engined seemed pretty refined for a diesel, very quiet and smooth compared to the 1.6TDI A1 we had before Christmas. The A3 interior was nice, I got comfy really quickly, more r less the right shape for me at 6'4". Dials look great in the dark.

I shouldn't bother with the Nav - it won't be worth it come resale time. Best to get portable one or a phone that does it.

Thought the nav unit would give me bluetooth?

get a Nav system off ebay, they go for about £225-250

will be worth it if your planning on keeping the car for a while

Not necessarily. The Sportback I had the other day had bluetooth, but no Navigation, voice control over the phone too.

This is the Sportback Sport TDI I had the other day, loved the silver, the OPs grey is very nice too, is it Meteor Pearl?

I believe the colour is Titan Grey, its a metallic and looks a little green sometimes.

I already have the telephone with voice control but phone connects via adapter in the arm rest, I have aux. port for my iPod behind the cigar lighter.

I intend on keeping this car for minimum 3 years, first impressions are that I really like it so we'll just see how I get on. The Audi nav unit will never be as good as a decent aftermarket one but I think it'll be a cool addition.

This is my first ever Audi experience, I'd never even been in one until I test drove this.. and this is the 25th car I've owned!

Could also do with getting a better camera! Those photos are using an iPod Touch camera and they are terrible!

RNS-E 3G is quite nice but expensive to get from a reputable source. There are plenty of cheap, first generation RNS-E units around but their legitimacy is often questionable and they're starting to feel quite dated now.

Bluetooth is a separate addition.

Smart little car, I like the look of late A3s. The CR170 is leaps and bounds better than the PD170 in reliability terms.

Do you have to input voice numbers in yourself to the car? When I had the above, I could scroll through the menu on the wheel and it'd have all my numbers, but to use the voice control, it kept telling me my phone book was empty and then had to keep reading numbers out to it...

How much difference is there performance wise between the 140 and 170? 140 felt mega quick, but I'm used to a 95bhp petrol with 140lb-ft less in the torque department.

the blue tooth connection allows you to use the phones database which you can scroll through the wheel

the voice system is a separate entity with its own database which you have to make entries into, its a PITA, last time i tried it i endded up having a row with the poxy thing

NO THREE YOU fkING !!!

Ahh, I see. I thought it worked quite well once I worked it out, though a few times it'd be "Dial" "3" "DIIIALLL" "3, 3, 3" "CANCEL" "7" "Oh do one." "Possible commands are..."

RAGE!
