thought i would start a new thread regarding my Focus Rs as it has now done 100k yikes

I bought the car in 2006

I kept the car stock for @ 18 months before adding a Dreamscience remap & decat pipe which took it up to 265bhp & i ran it like this for a few months until the turbo seals went which i upgraded to a Turbo Technics hybrid which bought the power up to 285bhp smile
I then added a tubular manifold & an upgraded charge cooler rad which took it to 307bhp but at the time i discovered it was not boosting fully which was rectified & i have also done the rest of the exhaust so it goes quite a bit better although i have not had it on the rollers since.

It pulled a very good 13.5 1/4 & a proven 157mph over a standing mile (the limiter in 5th)so im very happy with that performance & it can upset quite a few 'better' cars hehe

The car still drives great & bar the turbo & a clutch it has only needed normal wear & tear & service items, it is an easy car to work on & has never been touched by anyone bar me except for a gearbox repair that was done under warranty by Ford smile
Ive serviced it every 5k since i bought it & i think this has a bearing on how well it still runs.

I have covered 70k of the miles in my ownership & i have loved every minute i had a bit of a wobble last year when i put the car up for sale but after looking around long & hard i decided i couldnt replace it so its staying put with me.

The bodywork is starting to show its age with stonechips & where someone drove into it in my work car park so once the insurance is sorted it will be going in for a windows down respray to get it looking its best again which im really looking forward to thumbup

I bought this car on a whim after going to look at an Evo & it was one of the best decisions ive ever made its proven a fast reliable car & i cannot honestly think of any other car that would have ticked as many boxes as this one.

Some more pics smile

Mine looks like that aswell! I've had mine coming up to six years aswell and I've also been in the same predicament about selling it. For me I just can't seem to find anything as capable as a replacement. It's like a smelly old pet you can't get rid of and have put down! The years roll on and the car is still with me, love it..

They are lovely cars no doubt about it. How are they holding up underneath at this mileage as a few standard focuses i have seen up on ramps recently seem to be rotting a lot in various places.

I have a very small amount of corrosion just starting on the edges of the rear arches from stone chips but that will be done when it's painted, a few have had problems on the edge of the front wings where the bumper brackets are but apart from that they hold up really well smile

I was thinking more the underside of the cars, went to see 4 st170's all with rusting sumps, rear suspension points and floor etc. But never seen an RS as rusty as that. Better factory rustproofing perhaps?

Sumps still rot out bit replacement is cheap enough not to be an issue, subframes get surface corrosion but nothing else my one is very good considering it lives outside & is driven
In all weathers

Very ncice, I have always prefered the mk1 RS over the newer one. It's also nice to see it being used and not a garage queen like some I have seen around!!

Got any more photo's? smile
