1999 Rover Vitesse
Discussion
Not a vampire but leave for work early in the morning and get home late at night so getting near the car in daylight is quite difficult. Yes it is a fastback, basically a large hatchback.
It passed the MOT yesterday, no advisories and the tester even commented on the condition of the car being very good so I am pretty chuffed.
Found a couple of niggles, only hitting 8psi of boost which could be a weak diaphragm in the actuator, the last tank of fuel I got 26mpg which is pretty good for the car but potentially down to my driving style and the brakes are quite interesting at 70mph...
Oh and its so quiet and smooth that unless I am careful, I may get my first speeding ticket in the car...

What are you replacing it with man, seeing as you like your Rovers got my bet on a 75 or maybe a ZT .
Tbh, always had a bit of a soft spot for BL/ MG Rover cars, would love a 75 as a daily, they just ooooooze class, and they pull off the modern/retro thing better than the Jag X-type (which I do think looks good as an estate I think).
Any news on the Metro, think that's a fantastic bit of kit personally?

You should see my topic asking about non-rover cars!
Metro is SORN'd and off the road atm with no MOT, needs a replacement engine as the top end sounds like a skeleton wking in a biscuit tin and its overfuelling and burning oil. Hopefully in the new year I will source a new engine for it and get it sorted for some track work.

Well I had it up for 1k but would listen to sensible offers on it. FSH, MOT until Sept 2013, tax until feb, added a manual boost controller as it was only boosting to 8psi so now its at a verified 12psi which is the best for the turbo/engine apparently. Cat back stainless exhaust system, upgraded speakers all round, wheels are all in really good condition(may have another set which can be included for a little extra) and its really clean inside, out and under it.
Based in Southport if you know where that is...

Shockingly enough, for a rover there is no rust I can find(even the MOT tester commented on how clean it was underneath) and everything works, the only issues it has would be that the drivers door sometimes sticks and the passenger window relay needs replacing(I have the part, just not the time to sort it as I use the climate)
