Cars you wished you hadn't sold.

Can I be mundane for a second?
The only one I regret selling is my old A2. Mainly because now I'm married and have a house and a dog, it would be pretty much perfect in every way as a second car. I even tried to buy it back, but he'd sold it again barely a few weeks before I asked. Every time i walk past my wife's 106, no matter how good it is, I wish it was the A2.

Not only mundane, but very sad. Sad that you miss it. But that's sad. IYKWIM The only one I regret selling is my old A2. OK - I'll throw mine in. I can only think of one I REALLY did not want to sell - let alone wish I hadn't. I bought this Roush Mustang early this year. A 427R. Quite a rare model. Very very low miles. A 2007 model that was pedantically maintained. Built by Roush in the states when new. It was like a new car. I loved it. It went like stink. Looked the bizz (in my eyes). And it sounded superb.
But when I bought it, it was going to go over to Sweden with me, only I found out the Supercharger would not be allowed in Sweden. So it was remove it (put it back afterwards maybe, but same thing for MOT every year) or sell it. I couldn't face the cost of new parts to take out the SC, and the hassle every year, so I sold it.
I consoled myself by buying this

My 106 Rallye, it was a pristine example. I was often asked if i'd had it re-sprayed. Lovely tight engine. I wanted to cage it and fit some tarmac spec suspension. Had a fair amount of setting up at Skip Brown. Sold it to a guy from Ireland. I found it a few years ago after someone had bought it as an abandoned project, they restored it back to standard and offered it to me for £1500. I was so tempted.

The one that got away....
1970 Chevrolet Camaro RS; 5.7 litres of concourse condition, polar bear melting muscle. I imported her directly from California when I was 21 and used her as my daily driver. Unfortunately the fuel costs spiraled out of control in the end and she was sold on just shy of 2 years later. The annoying thing is that I had a tidy (don't laugh at the back) Sierra at the time too that in hindsight I should've used every day and saved the Camaro for weekends. I was 21 though...take the jelly mould or jump in the muscle car?? Hmm. The Sierra got sold and so the £200+ a week LRP journey began!! I don't regret it for a second though, the top pic is from a family member's prom when he was 16. Everyone else turned up in limo's and we hung around 'til last and he was the envy of his mates as this brash, noisy hunk of Americana came rumbling in (full Flowmaster system ). According to the DVLA data the old girl hasn't been taxed for a fair few years now so hopefully she's safe and sound in a lock up somewhere rather than the unthinkable!
Oh and there's this too....but that's another story.....

Not anywhere near the level of metal shown in this thread but the car I still to this day regret getting rid of is my facelift starlet gt turbo, I was the first UK owner of the car when I was 18. It had full recaro interior, coilovers, adjustable top mounts, Blitz exhaust, Apexi air filter, Blitz decat, 4 point TRD harnesses, adjustable actuator and other bits and pieces. I loved that car, my cammed 106 that replaced it was nothing but trouble and I had to get rid of it at a considerable loss after 3 months
I do miss my 350Z but mostly because I didn't replace it, funds went on a house deposit. Now I've got a Mazda 6 TS2 estate, exciting! That's going to get chopped for a Nissan Navara truck for family/work and hopefully another 2 seater in the future. Two seaters aren't very practical with the missus being 20 weeks pregnant, apparently you're not allowed to put baby in the boot
And whilst I wouldn't buy another one, I do miss my L200 warrior. Used that for carrying dirt bikes around and all sorts. Was great fun.

No photo's but I sold a Porsche 1973 2.4 911 'T' back in 1993 for £6900.00. It was fully restored and had original engine/gearbox 65,000 miles with total full history including the original factory order form and loads of history including letters I exchanged with the first owner.
Today the same car would be worth £35-50K, see an example below.

I now have a later 911 Carrera 3.2, a far superior car but I don't suppose it will ever catch up on the value of the 'T' I sold.
