I'm surprised by those figures. I get 46 out of a high mileage 2007 520d - going up to 50 in a run. I'm not a particularly slow driver, but not much of my driving is proper city crawling.
the issue is my journey, urban, city, gridlock, 2 mins of the A1, then a series of roundabouts, add to the mix the usual weekends of stop starting and short journeys and the MPG ends up like that.A spirited jaunt to Leeds a few weeks back saw 50mpg, and my old 30 mile commute (each way), basically cutting out the roundabout section for an additional 15 miles of the A1 and I could see 60mpg
The real world MPG figures are always about 2mpg less than the trip computer says too?
Well, the car is 100 miles off 50k, so I thought I'd update this post.
Problems so far, the coating on the steering wheel trim is peeling a bit at the edges, I'll just remove it wand wrap it I think.
And the bonnet release catch is sticking, probably due to the weather, so I'll get that greased up.
Other than that, the car is tip top, bring on the winter! (but not snow please)

I do like these cars! Ive got a 3rd on the way so my other 2kids will be 5 and 7..... reckon you could get 3 across the back?
Are you running yours with an extended BMW warranty or anything?
I'd say no, the middle seat is sort of raised if that makes sense? Are you running yours with an extended BMW warranty or anything?
I have a 2 year old in a child seat, and a 6 year old in a booster and you can just about get the arm rest down between them.
And yeah I have extended the warranty with BMW, it was £550 for the year with breakdown
I have the same car in the same colour although its the slightly less frugal 325 petrol! Out of interest, where did you get your wheels from? I'm not a fan of aftermarket wheels normally but I like those. I wanted some csl wheels but don't want to ruin the ride with 19" wheels and the 18" replicas are not supposed to be up to much so I'm told. Im in the Newcastle area.

I bought them from telford, a guy was trading in his 335D and BMW were scared of them, he got them from Rimstyle:http://www.rimstyle.com/alloywheels/detail/?car_mo...
Mine had Msport alloys with runflats, 17", these wheels + tyres are lighter! oh and if you're currently on runflats, you'll be amazed at the ride once you change!

Thanks for the info. I'm on the standard 18" m sport wheels but the lacquer is peeling off so good time to change. I changed to normal tyres. The handling isn't quite as pin sharp but the ride is so much better. A much more acceptable compromise. http://www.rimstyle.com/alloywheels/detail/?car_mo...

Mine handles like a boat compared to my VTS so I just tend to cruise about in itMantaMike said:
completely off topic, but what app is that for fuel economy calculations?
edit: nice car by the way, and definitly the best colour for an E90 M-Sport (see my profile )
It's called "Road Trip", you can add running costs such as servicing etc, this will factor into your cost per mileedit: nice car by the way, and definitly the best colour for an E90 M-Sport (see my profile )
It's jazzy
Bit of an mpg update for you that are interested, My new commute is an 80 mile round trip, mainly the A1, the car will see 55mpg easily on a longer commute with say 35m of motorway and 5 of urban type things each way. I've managed over 60mpg when sticking to the inside lane.
It's in for a service on Saturday, a timed one, not a condition based one, as I said, it's not driven hard.
I'll report back with what massive expense I have to fork out.
;p
