Hi Pingy, thanks for the info and taking the time to upload the photos. The chap I bought the car from did tell me it was based north of the border for some time, and used for shows. Unfortunately, its previous owner did let the car go a little, and it since had both front wings replaced, one of which is missing the plastic wheel arch extension - £100 from BMW each ! As with most older cars, there's a few things to do improve the standard of the car.

Green interior is very very rare on any 5 series (more so on M535i)-i personally would never ever replace it
It was called Pine Green; I think it is really nice too, but the new black interior has the huge advantage of being leather, so I probably would fit it. Leather was very rare on the E28! It is a lovely car. My father had one (albeit with 700cc less) in the mid 'eighties. His was an automatic in Delphin metallic with Pacific cloth seats, strange how you remember these things. My grandfather had one in Bronzit beige. Well, he did until someone stole it and used it as a getaway car at an armed robbery...
Lovely mate! I really miss my old one (now have an E30 but would love another E28).Mine was a dog leg manual, too.Quite interesting in the wet....in fact it was quite interesting in the dry
This was my old girl.Owned it back in the 90's.I traded it in against an E34 530 manual in the end.Wish I hadn't now!

[quote=B17NNS]Lovely. Prefer the original wheels the car came with though.[/
It would have originally had the standard 535i Mtec metric alloys on it, I suspect. I have experience of these on a E28 535i SE. Tyre availablity is expensive, and limited. Shame the car parted company with the BBS's it had at one time !
If it had the complete green interior, I would have kept it that way. I'd have never replaced the missing green trim, as it is so rare. As it happened, I located the complete black interior, so it was a no brainer really.

I have the same tyre availability/price problem with my Jaguar XJ40. I might have to move to 16" wheels eventually, but I'm sticking with the 'Teardrops' as long as I can.

Assumed it was an issue with the metrics. Shame but lovely none the less 80quattro said:

Stunning car, the M535i is just perfect IMO.
Oh those BBS wheels in the pics? They look great but those are 415mm TRX wheels...... Good riddance IMO.
