If the only alternatives are black and white, I'd better get to like this colour too!!

Superb car. I would love a 1M, in that colour as well, looks superb.

Whats with M3, the previous owner a bit weird smile?

I have to say at Sunday service a white one was parked next to a E90 M3, the 1M looked more mean and made the M3 look tame. Cracking car smile

Thanks. The previous owner apparently usually has M3s but she made an exception for the 1M. She has gone back to an M3 again now. My gain smile

Nice car but this one also suffers from terrible paint finish as do all BMWs, look at the paintwork above the M badge on the side of the car the "orange peel" is dreadfull.
Not having a go as I also have this with my BMW . And BMW do not give a st about the finish on the cars wether it is £20k or £60k.

That is surprising, but don't understand the need for this post, apart from making yourself feel better......??

Mmmm, orange (peel). Great car though. How does it compare to the other one on the drive?
What is this? Sloppy paint finish? Factory overspray?

just don;t understand the hype

it's an old model with a bit more power

and the amount of cars that are better for 40k is simply huge

You might as well ignore him. He essentially claimed that the GT86 and a 911 were the same because the air vents were located in roughly the same place.

It's just the way the paint is applied in the factory, all BMWs are like this frown

the surface is basically riddled with peaks and troughs, as mentioned earlier a wetsand is the solution.

I ws shocked to see £105k worth of spankers C63 with exactly the same issue, I'd have expedted the AMG Performance center to have had it sorted, I guess folks aren't really that bothered with it

Love this car though!

Car looks great, apart from that shocking paint job. The finish is awful.

ABSOLUTLEY...dreadfull finish on a expensive car.

But to most people that is acceptable.

I didn't expect YOU to understand ..... and why would it make me feel better?? just highlighting the poor paint finish you can expect on new BMWs today.
I have a new BMW and it also suffers from terrible paintwork. I like the OP car and the colour just not the paint finish.

But thank you for your valuable contribution.nuts

As others have said, have you driven one? I thought long and hard about buying this car and possible alternatives. I really couldn't think of anything else that came close for the price so I'd be interested to hear whats on your huge list. The only other serious contender for me was an early Aston V8 Vantage but as a daily driver this is the better option.

Edited for typo.

Spotted already! I was on my way to work trying to minimise use of the power in the appalling conditions. What were you in?
