Job lot of ten genuine Activa spheres have been ordered from France for £237
Lets hope they are not intercepted at sea and lobbed at the English trawler fleet Alternatively S10GTA arrested in terror plot plan using old style "bermbs" in inspector Clouseau style.
I have a Xantia Activa along with my other sporting Citroens
The Xantia Activa is a remarkable Q-car - it looks like any other Xantia but is a refined comfortable, fast and stimulating car to drive which is a great allrounder. Fast and comfortable on the motorway, nimble and extraordinarily well balanced on the tight stuff. The spheres can be recharged which is distinctly more economic… But what the Activa does require is good, rather truly excellent tyres. They were originally fitted with W speed Michelins not because of the top speed but that Activas need tyres with stiff sidewalls and W rated tyres are better than tyres with lower speed ratings… Mine came equipped with Runway tyres which had the grip of a shoe on a banana skin. I have just equipped mine with some Goodyear Efficient grip V rated tyres but am disappointed, they feel squidgy and don't have as much grip as I would have imagined. Some Activa owners swear by increasing the pressures to about 38psi all round – I will be trying this next. On the performance front is taking it to a rolling road and increasing the boost – another 25 or 30 bhp would be nice and I suspect won't do anything to the fairly awful fuel consumption With my heavy right foot I get just northwards of 25mpg. A very tempting idea is to drop a remapped Turbo diesel in.
And another pic
Mine has the wrong front bumper – why - I don't know…

Fast? 0-60 in just under 10 seconds isn't even warm I'm afraid They are also built from French cheese... I would feel safer on a motorbike in an accident.
That said, I do appreciate the technology behind the suspension and wish other manufacturers had the guts to try something similar... preferably the Japanese so that they get the reliability right
A nice RWD coupe with plush cruising suspension, no body roll and nice and tight in the corners... lovely.

....of course that should be changed to "They see me NOT rollin'"
Only just found this thread.
Years ago I took a Xantia Activa for a test drive as a possible step up from the BX 1.9 GTi I had at the time. It felt slightly faster and I was very impressed with the cornering. The rep. seemed less impressed as I took it round a roundabout one and a half times at 30+ on the way back to the showroom.

Just because is doesn't do 0-60 in 5 seconds doesn't mean it can't be quick...They are also built from French cheese... I would feel safer on a motorbike in an accident.
