Heh. I've driven the same route pretty much every working day for nigh on 20 years. paperbag
If I can be at the head of the queue, I don't mind either set of lights. Means I get a clear bit of road ahead. wink

Hey. Great car and the mods list looks fantastic. I am a prospective GT86 owner and it's good to hear that the ECU mapping makes a difference. I probably won't (I say that now lol) pursue the forced induction route...but definitely will upgrade the exhaust system.

Does the Avo Cat Back Exhaust System sound good without the turbo? Most YouTube videos of the system include GT86's with the Turbo kit. Are you able to post a soundclip/video of your exhaust system?

In your opinion is the Avo exhaust the best sounding one.. i.e. It sounds less like a boy racers car and more 'sophisticated'?
Mobile phone vid so not the best quality: video.

Never liked the factory spoiler/wing - finally got round to sorting a more subtle affair.

That does look smart, and very OEM. Details?

Not so keen on the rear lights myself (different to the last photo?), I think they clash a little with the orange paint, but I get why you'd want to change them.

It's a cheapo knock-off from Fensport: CLICK. It's supplied a little rough with some mould seams and marks but a little time and effort sanding and smoothing before painting paid off.
Re the tail lights, the photo's a bit misleading.
It was foggy so lights were on, and camera seems to have done some trickery to 'improve' the image. Soz.

Hey Mr Grover. How do you find the Eagle F1s ? I am about to switch to them from the Prius tyres.

Have you tried them on track ? I am not sure how much abuse they can take there ?

I know what you mean. I spent ages thinking about what to get, since to me a lot of wheels look good on these. Was going to get a set of Works Emotion but ended up going for something else. Browse through the US forum wheel section, since a lot of people have most of the wheels so it helps knowing what they will look like on the cars. Don't want to spoil what I got so soon though. biggrin

Not been on track since I switched. On the road they're a little more grippy but no so much you lose the fun factor. I'll be buying Goodyear again in preference to the Michelin.

Very un-PH of me, but I'm having second thoughts... paperbag

Mainly, the ride is too firm for daily use. It's great on fine, Sunday mornings hooning around Britain's A and B roads but for the daily grind on worsening quality, potholed roads it's doing my swede in. The last girlfriend couldn't stand it either. Every patch let alone pothole is felt so before I lose all my teeth I'm going back to 'stock' and have camber/geo reset to something a little more friendly.

If anyone who's a little more 'hard-core' would like to make an offer for the Tein springs please get in touch. They're the -25mm ones here: CLICK

Would the -15 give a little more compliance perhaps?

Been back to normal springs for a month or so now, very happy.
I retained the stiffer anti-roll bar so it's still plenty flat cornering, but the harshness has been eliminated.

If anyone wants to make their car a little sharper and flatter in the bends try the Eibach anti-roll bar kit first, before faffing about with springs and dampers. You may be surprised.
Edit: That's rubbish.
It was the ARBs that had ruined the ride and handling. Now I've reverted to stock ARB it's great.
I didn't understand (still don't really) how suspension works and fits together, but I can tell you one thing for certain - stiffer sway bars ruin it for road use.

How are you finding the remap now you have done a few more miles? Noticed any niggles/issues? MPGs effected?

Im trying to decide whether to do a new manifold and remap (reduce the dip) or just a catback and map (bit cheaper and easier)

If I'm honest, I'm not sure I could tell the difference. I'm sure were it dynoed before and after there'd be a measurable difference but definitely not enough to make you go 'Wow!'
Same goes for MPG - I suspect it may give a little extra, but if I improved my driving style I'd make much greater savings.

Go in with your eyes open - if you're going to go turbo or s/c then bigger exhaust will make a real difference.
If not, don't kid yourself - it's for looks and sound.

Re 'the dip' - it's low in the range and in exactly the same place every time. I drive around/to it and it's NEVER been an issue.

Thanks for the reply, i guess its all to easy to be taken in by the dyno graphs and tuner claims!

A bit more noise would be nice though!

I'm sure in one of the MCM videos on the dyno, they said you generally need to see about a 20% improvement in dyno figures to really see a noticeable difference in power on the road.
