Tempted, but not persuaded.
Mike took me for a test drive while mine was in their workshop. It's a very well thought out and implemented solution - to a problem I don't have. I've driven AVO turbo and Harrop supercharged cars and they're all impressive(ish).
Out of the box though, while they increase power and torque significantly, they still don't feel as grunty or exciting as my old TVR Griffith. Clearly, more aggressive set-ups can be had, but at increased cost and lower durability and maybe reliability.
I'm very happy with the meagre c. 200BHP and have way more fun than I ever did in the Griff, barring the blistering acceleration and sound track.

Bad news; death rattle then pretty much seized.
Engine's been stripped down and determined main bearings went pop.
Good news; Toyota GB honouring warranty. While not a whole new engine (rumoured at £17,000 for a crate engine) they're fitting a new half engine, retaining the top half which is undamaged.
Not great for a four year old car with less than 60,000 miles but st happens. C'est la vie.
Hoping to get it back before Christmas, but it'll be close. Annoyingly, it died three hours from home so six hour round trip to collect too.
Great service so far from Steven Eagell Toyota in Northampton, especially Carl and Shaun. Never seen the car before but took it in without flinching, arranged courtesy car and sorted all warranty dealings with Toyota GB. Top service.

Called customer service on Friday; awaiting callback.
In the meantime, another call from the dealer to say they are going to proceed with the repair under warranty.
So that's last Wednesday okay to proceed with warranty repair, Friday I have to pay and claim back after Toyota has inspected parts, and today back to where we were last Wednesday. No real indication or explanation of why, or what's changed - I'm just relieved they have.
2.1/2 weeks in and it looks like it'll be sorted soon. Fingers crossed.

New bottom end supplied and fitted. Battery was also replaced under warranty. While the engine was out I also had a new clutch and spark plugs, effectively free of labour charge.
New engine and clutch plus transmission fluids and the new billies installed a couple of months ago, it feels like a new car - including having to run it in again.
2.1/2 hour drive back home was uneventful, ran well.
Now have to decide whether to keep it... I've lost a little faith, but still love the car.

Heh. Not quite. New parts come with one year warranty, so at least it takes me past September when the five year warranty will be up.Selling soon has it's positives; new engine and clutch with fresh one year warranty, and there's eight months of original five year warranty remaining. It also has pretty much new Bilstein B14 coilovers and an ECUTeK licence (though no custom map) which may be seen as a positive to some buyers. Selling later with little or no warranty remaining will likely not be as sellable.
I have the modified AVO turboworld 2.1/2" cat-back exhaust and TD UEL manifold to sell separately as they are no longer fitted. I'd probably re-fit the stock wheels and sell the OZ Racing Ultraleggera.
My head and heart say sell, but the question remains; with what to replace it? It's an awesome car and I genuinely love it. It's a bit like being married to Michelle Pfeiffer and discovering she's been shagging the hired help - still everything she was before, but can you trust her not to do it again?
If I do sell I'll be looking at something a bit more languid and lazy, something I can live with without/less fear of being unfaithful. So switching Michelle for the girl next door - BMW Z4, Mazda MX-5 or maybe a classic older model (MILF) E31 850.

As a 'purist' I'd've preferred the 1.5, but after driving the 2.0 I was convinced the 2.0 litre is spot on. It's a fantastic car. Much more grown up than the Toyota and a real pleasure to drive.
FTR, the PCP deal is very competitive.
If I'd not already bought a replacement, I'd buy the RF without a second thought.
