Spent a few hours this weekend cleaning, polishing and waxing, between the decorating I've been ordered to do by swmbo

I still need to get the wheels off to clean around and I need to wipe down the door shuts, engine bay and interior. I'm probably going to pop the rear windows out too as the seals are grimy.

Looking much better...

And crappy beading pic

Just needs an MOT as soon as I can. Definitely needs a set of tyres to see it through.

Not so sure I can sell it now though frown

Love it, lovely throwback to the 90's RS ford's. Wheels suit the car perfectly.

Still loving this car, recently noticed someone local has a red one! How's the CVH feeling?

Good! Tapping isn't bad at all and revs smoothly.

I love the old fords, Never been in one of these but drive a friends RS1800 and very nice quick tight car. much better than expected.
my old problem with old fords is the cost, prices seem to just go up and up.. Dont sell it, its an investment, and next year when you want it back you'll look at the classifieds and go OH! F****

I love seeing cars like this, looking like it only a year old or so. Best color combo too. Well played, sir.

Spent another hour or so today waxing and cleaning

Wheels off, before shot. You can see the deep cracks in the sidewalls but I need new tyres all round anyway

After. No proper cleaning products and the condition isn't all that great on the inside.

New discs and pads are going to be needed

Sootie was having a good nosy round the car

And just a couple more of the car

Really nice car, I like the wheels too, never seen them on RS Turbos, they were normally the spoked type were'nt they?

@Chimaera99: The original wheels were a 3-spoke design. Clean example! I like the white on white very motorsport esque. Exhaust is huge! But that seems to be the way with old fast fords! I liked the mid level boot spoiler you see on some of the mk3 model Fiesta's. Quite rare to see now!

MOT tomorrow, keep your fingers crossed for me!

Definitely needs a set of tyres which will be £180 fitted, probably needs front discs and pads but not sure what, if anything, else.

Feedback this morning from the garage sounds positive. I think a set of tyres and a locking fuel cap will get it through the MOT but with a couple of advisories to sort. I will update later once confirmed.

Good news mate

Was going to mention the petrol cap, any idea why its non-standard?

Thanks. It's been confirmed MOT will be £220 in total. I'm very happy with that.

The locking filler cap seized a bit and I just picked up a temp one from a petrol station.

The question now is do I spend another £220 to tax it and pay the insurance deposit....if I pay tax online normally I just drive until I receive the tax disc in post, is this ok to do?

Well done, £220 is a good pass I would say, my last mot was £600. AFAIK you can drive from as soon as you have paid for the tax, it's updated on the databases (a.n.p.r etc) straight away. At least how I roll!
