Really nice car.
Only issue for me is that they are going to sell them by the bucket load. I like my cars pretty exclusive but still could be my next car.
Currently have the coupe version which is a great car especially with a few tweaks so can only imagine what these will be like with a few mods ...
That's why, I think, audis RS models hold their value much more than the equivelent BMW M.
Having said that, I'd love to be able to afford a £30k car!

I recon I could live with the looks, when at the helm winkas they say, beauty is only skin deep, it's what lies below on this car that counts.....I wouldn't chop my 1M in for one but sharing the stable with a 4 door would be a go'er. Looking forward to seeing your out and about pics.

Love the thread on your 1M - it looks incredible! I had a look at one once or twice, but decided that with the amount of time I'm stuck in traffic in town or on the motorway it would just be a little too hardcore for me day to day.

Lovely car.

Poor bloody dog will be pinned to the back of it though.

Unfortunately I think they're incredibly ugly machines, but I'm still very interested in them as I'm hearing so much about how good they drive! Love the dog picture smile

Thanks

That is true and the reason why mine is a weekender only living in London, saying that though, the KW DDC suspension has made a considerable difference in the ride when you need something more forgiving.

Enjoy your new ride and I look forward to reading more on your M135i adventures.

When these first came out I did wonder what BMW were thinking but they have definitely grown on me. I really like this and it's in the best colour for it. Must be a good drive too

Nice, I bet that goes like st off a shovel! biggrin

I didn't like the look or shape of these, but this version looks alot better. The back end from a side shot looks very similar to a Scirocco.

I have to admit I never really liked the BMW 1 series, but after seeing its time on Nurburgring I have a new found respect for the M135i

8:05 I think, although I'm not sure if it's an official time. Lovely car OP, had a look around a 5 door version today in the same colour. It's actually a really good looking car in the flesh I think. Very very tempting.

Awesome, damn quick time! Although if the RS3 supposedly understeers badly, be interesting to see how it lapped 10 seconds quicker..

Looks lovely mate! You on babybmw?

I have an AW Manual on order, cant bloody wait!! I think these will hold their money, as I dont think they will sell them by the bucket load for two reasons:

The looks - people are divided over them.
Its not a real //M - For a lot of people thats an issue and they'd rather wait for a new 1M or 2M

Also, lots of people stick to badges so I expect a lot of VW Golf / Audi RS3 etc drivers to stay with what they know.

Well this thread is LONG overdue an update. About 5.5k miles into ownership and still very, very impressed. To me it's a little GT car - rides well, comfortable over long distances, fking fast - but steering feel aside, is also great on an A/B road blast.

Some pictures over the months since I picked it up. First thing to note (and this will upset some people on here!) is that most of the time it's absolutely filthy...

Up in the north of Scotland:

Showing that you can fit passengers behind a 6 foot 5 driver...!

On dog duty again on a trip over to Ireland:

A wee summary of a weekend away:

Dirty once again, on the Isle of Skye:

And finally, being admired on a Scottish PH run. This was a great day out, especially following a 997 Turbo, 996 GT3 and 996 C4S through some fantastic countryside. Our little convoy made rather a lot of noise!

Nice pictures! I have a 5 door auto in estoril blue. Only had it for a couple of weeks, but love the split personality of the car.

Can recommend the M Performance exhaust, sounds great (found the standard exhaust a little too polite) yet does not drone on the motorway. Also retains the active exhaust flap. Pricey but worth it.
