Any idea how many of these still exist on the roads today? My friend told me it was 10 about 5 years ago but that figure can't be right. He has a light blue one that he has resprayed black!!!! I still to this day cannot believe he changed the colour to black FFS!!!

That one looks like it's in a good colour and it doesn't look like it's in a bad way

I've got fond memories of my old E28 M535i. Nothing like as rare as your car, but still a great car all the same. Looks like you're doing a great job there and it's nice to see one being saved.

I'm pleased you finally got a proper M535i. I remember emailing you about one ages ago!

What colour are you going to spray it when you've finished?

I always wanted one in white with the Motorsport stickers on it!

It is staying Artic Blau, I did want a white or a silver one, but this colour is really growing on me. I haven't decided on whether to sticker it up yet. At the moment I fancy no badges or stickers.

I was at David Kelly's scrap yard this afternoon - he has a bright red E12 528i there and I was struck by how small the E12 is!

Your welding guy is doing an excellent job of this M535i.

I didn't pay it enough attention unfortunately since I was there to find parts for my XJ40. It seemed to be reasonably complete though. I was still recovering from the shock that David Kelly (a Jaguar specialist breaker) only had one XJ40 in the yard, though he had a number of X300s and other Jaguars.

This is the place, he will be able to tell you the state of the bonnet.
