The big rascal sold to new owner today.

A brave bloke, going to be using it as a daily. In London.

He'll be a great new owner but sad to see it go.

Lucky guy. Must admit, if I had the cash I'd have loved it as a daily. Did you tell him he has to post on here, so we can see he's treating it right?

Bye bye Beemer. Off to live with it's new owner. Glad someone (else) will be using it as intended. If you live around South West London keep an eye out for it.

Something satisfying about seeing a man in a suit and leather gloves driving off in it. He looked like a German hitman.

Also the first car in a very long time that I've not lost money on.

Will be missed.

Honestly, just as I get the damned thing right you go and sell it!
Lovely car. It was a pleasure to work on and very satisfying.

Don't worry, we'll have another project soon I'm sure wink

Also, E12, E24 and E28 people - I'm selling my spares package. Photo below. Not shown W&N rear strut brace and OEM BMW M535i springs front and back.

Lots there to catalogue but some pretty rare early //M bits including BMW M1 steering wheel centre boss etc.

You sold it then - onwards and upwards smile

Also - do those leads fit an E34 M5? I'm in need of a set.

The leads are different, I'm afraid. No cam position sensor and completely different plug connections.

Thought so - thanks Michael.

Off topic but my car is now running a lot better smile

I'll drop by sometime for the next stage in the 'restoration'

Regards
Imran

Not a huge amount:

Walloth & Nesch rear strut bar
Plenty of gaskets that are M90/M30 compatible

^^ I was going to say HOW MUCH!!! but am reminded of the prices paid for cars like a Mark 2 RS2000 and decidedly ropey air cooled 911's. Not 100% on the wheels, but a great looking car.

I'd love this car. In fact, just for a moment, I thought of selling my M3!

^^^ I don't have the money, but if someone does then I think that's a good deal, especially with a clearly publicly documented history here.

She's mine, I bit the bullet and bought her yesterday :-)
I first bought an E12 M535i at the tender age of 21 in 1985......grainy pic attached.
I've hankered after another one for nearly three decades!
She will be in good company.

Thanks Olly,
I only bought the car on the strength and depth of the information you have devoted to this thread.
I haven't even seen the car yet (I'm on hols abroad), I'll be picking it up on Monday.
You have done an amazing job, not only bringing it back to life, but in the ultra professional and thorough way you have done it :-)
I will be changing a couple of bits on the car (unless I get a reaction to the contrary):
I will be redoing the wheels in the original silver finish.
I will probably be removing the stripes, except for perhaps on the front spoiler.
I will be adding the original "535i badge on the front grille and swapping the "M" badge back over to the other side.
