Bro has a 54 plate 1.8 SRi too - I've had a go and it's a little go kart! Any damp on the roads means front wheels cannot get the power down in 1st of 1 to 2 though!

Yep, second gear can be a bit short and hard to put it down as you both said, especially in the wet.

And it does have the close ratio gear box, which is a huge improvement over the sxi gear box I had in my first car
