Yeah the seats look very smart.

New problem: I tried to plant my hand into the horn because of an annoying pedestrian who thought he owned the roundabout, and discovered that the horn isn't working lol. Any suggestions?

Anyone know what this big red switch is by the headlight tilt?

Switch is not standard, my guess is power to a sub or something similar.

When you say plant your hand in the horn, where exactly do you mean? This might sound like an odd question, but the horn is actually on the end of the indicator stalk rather than the steering wheel. If that is what you were trying and it doesn't work then check your fuses first. When it does work, the horn is seriously unintimidating - more of an annoying toot than a horn!

Have visions of the OP mashing the wheel and getting frustrated.

That's for your nitrous. Widely fitted but little known option.

This is usually because of the large explosion that tends to follow hitting it hehe

Haha! Funnily enough I was wondering what the button on the end of the stalk was right afterwards too. Double embarrassing!

MOT Fail. Centre exhaust intermediate silencer blowing. No idea what that means, all I know is it's £50 to replace but the missus ran off with my wallet to work. Worth shopping around or is that reasonable?

Complete guess but on that picture I posted earlier where the edge of that box is rusting... is that what's "blowing"?

Exhaust gas is escaping from a hole in the silencer. £50 is probably reasonable, I certainly wouldn't fanny round at that sort of price when it's that or a fail! Just check you get the old silencer, and you're not paying £50 for a quick weld!

If that's including fitting that's a good price.

More than likely yes, be a little hole there somewhere.

As in ask that I can keep the old silencer that is being replaced? Hmm, I don't want to rub them up the wrong way because there is still a pending emissions test afterwards. Can you link me a picture of what is being replaced? Then I'll go take a picture of it under the car before and after.

There shouldn't be an issue in asking for the old part if it's a legit garage. I always ask for the old parts, even if you say you are just going to sell it for scrap. When my A8 failed it's MOT on a cracked rear spring this year, I asked to see the old spring. The bloke was happy to take me into the workshop to see it (though it is a first rate MOT centre). When my old S60's electronic throttle module failed, the dealer put the old one in the boot for me (even though he had paid for the new one out of his own pocket).
