Yes B ,mainly furious Googling ,found some events I'd not heard of before in magazines and the small rallies I found
I had to Google stuff in Italian as searching "Italian rally championship" just gives results for the WRC round on Sardinia.
The locations for the Pistoia rally were on the poor website luckily and when I went out there I was looking for the
shakedown stage but ended up at one of the competitive stages instead.
I couldn't find the shakedown in the village it was named after but I saw a rally official car turn at the crossroads and I turned car
around and went up the same road and Viola ,it was up there.
Here's some more FIATs.
That's the whole team of 7 Seicentos ,then it got darker and I couldn't take decent pics of a Stratos ,2 Integrales and a 131 Abarth

I should have gone back on the Sunday but without a programme I wasn't 100% where the stages were that day but a semi
educated guess was that the 2 stages used on Saturday were the 2 south of the city and 2 on Sunday were the 2 west of the city.
I'd have got to see the Historic class listed above in daylight but I stayed home.
Lucca - Pistoia on the Autostrade was less than 2 Euros toll.
There is a non toll road between them too but it's slow and there's a ZTL to avoid too.

A rather good F40 "sculpture" near the main entrance to the circuit .
And wall art.
The man whose name the circuit is named after.
After paying 10 Euros to access the paddock area ,turned out only those with a "Passione Ferrari" pass were allowed to step
onto the stand where their current products were displayed ,well done Ferrari ....
....
That was a joke anyway as the sides of the stand were wide open so everybody could see the display without soiling the
stand with their cheapness.
After walking from the start finish straight ,past the Ayrton Senna memorial and the Gilles Villeneuve tribute ,I walked up to
Tosa curves ,where the grandstand was closed but access was easy enough without breaking in.
Good to see that Roland Ratzenburger hasn't been forgotten either.

The Safety car used in the customer track sessions ,what for ?......was having way too much fun ,he was
wringing the neck of that car and but for the safety systems he'd have been drifting all over the place.
It was fun to watch though.
This was the handy "ladder" placed in the fence to enable access over the fence into the Tosa stands.
Next I walked round to Acque Minerale corner.
With less than a week before I set off on this trip ,I realised I had a day on this weekend free as the Ferrari racing days programme was
near identical for the weekend days.
First I found some Swiss Porsches racing at Mugello but then found......
The Alfa Romeo Revival Cup ,at a circuit most won't have heard of ,the Riccardo Paletti circuit at Varano.
The short drive from the Autostrade was interesting ,I'll reveal later was I saw.
3 of those Guilietta Ti saloons in the race.
22 of these ,either normal or wide body GTA type.
2 of these.
just one SZ2
The winner of the 1 hour race...^^
2 of these in the race ,1 lasted about 1 lap.
Some other stuff ,oldest car present ,not racing.

Who knows where Dallara are based ?
Nobody !
It never occurred to me to Google Dallara but lo and behold the man himself was born in Varano de Melegari and established
his eponymous company there and I drove past his impressive premises on the way to the circuit.
So I popped in on the way home ,luckily there was a gallery of cars and open till 6pm even on Sunday.
Dallara appears to have an entire industrial estate for all it's production facilities.
Anyhoo.

This GTV6 made a most extraordinary racket ,the only one in the Alfa Revival Cup race.
There was only 3 races on that Sunday ,the Youngtimer race was pretty tame with 2 team mates head and shoulders
quicker than the other 8 starters ,one of which caught fire so I guess the 2nd race for those had only 9 starters max ,I left before it
started .
2 days later ,Tuesday 1st October it's back up the Futa pass and the SP610 to Imola and the Ferrari Clienti XX cars but as mentioned
the F1 cars were present this time.
I guess they weren't allowed on the Nordschleife due to historic reasons.
and then the noise got turned up to 12.....
These are the last I will post.
After leaving Tosa corner ,you can't walk up to Piratella ,it's all overgrown and fenced off and going outside the circuit is no good
either as it's all high walls.
Walk back to the gates of the park Acque Minerali ,turn right and walk through the park to the corners of the same name.

These pics were taken just round the corner from the previous set ,once again it was easy to access a seated
grandstand as the way they are built means at one end of a particular stand it's close enough to the ground to climb over the
end of it.
and now moved down to corner of Variante Alta
That was a poor spot to take pics at ,so lastly before the day wound up at 6.30pm ,I walked down to a bridge
shortly before Rivazza ,which was accessible on Saturday but not Today Tuesday.
I found I could climb quite easily up the fence supports and take some half decent pics of the cars coming towards me.
A look at the circuit and it's proximity to the town of Imola ,it's right on the edge and some tower blocks overlook the
track itself.
I'm going to suggest that the same person owns car #18 and #81
Same colour scheme and I don't think they ever appeared in the same track sessions.
Owned by a very lucky and wealthy Swede going by the little flag on the FxxK rear spoiler.
