Little update.

Went over to Germany for 4 days in this ,its 3rd trip overseas this year and stuck

another 14-1500 miles on it [car's at home and haven't checked exact miles] without any problems.

1000 miles in first 2 days, just like the last trip and this car just keeps taking

all the punishment of driving hours on end at 75-80 mph on the continent.....smile

Now where can i go next ?...confused

Should have done a lap of the Nurburgring in it though....irked

lovely car thumbup, I had a silver one with steel wheels, red leather seats and a red roof. I had it for a couple of years and it was very reliable and loads of fun, much nicer than the Mazda Mx5 that I test drove a couple of years later. smile

1st update for 6 months.

Got back last night from a trip to Sweden.

Total mileage about 3800,could have been more if I hadn't got a bad back, was planning on driving

to beyond the arctic circle.I abandoned that with "only" 350-400 miles to go.

Also drove non stop Sweden to Calais, which is quite a feet for both car and 50+ driver.

Car was absolutely faultless, although the stupid keycode fault meant I had to fiddle with changing

keys before exiting the ferry at Dover.

Have also been to Italy this year which put on 2400 miles in 5 days.

I am going to stick my neck out and say this 17 year old Fiat is the best car I have owned, out of 37

cars in 34 years.

There I said it.

I would post some of the many pics of Fiat and Swedish scenery but my laptop isn't the best I have ever owned.

[rolleyes]....can't even do smilies with it.

This one in in the same position as a Cosworth pic 4 years ago.Just for proof.

And this is in Sundsvall where they appear to be building a huge bypass/bridge around the town.

Love these updates, I can only dream about trips like these.

Funny how some cars just make you want to drive and drive. My Smart Roadster made me feel like that, much more than any number of more "suitable" cars I've owned.

2 year update.

I picked this car up 2 years ago, yesterday.

Still pigging love it.

Last weekend I drove this all the way to and from Italy in 50.5 hours,1800+ miles.

I did it to challenge myself, utterly insane but enjoyable all the same, mostly.

It passed it's MOT in November with no advisories and not 1 thing has gone wrong with it this year.

And with 29 days of 2014 left,so far I have driven nearly 12,000 miles in this Fiat.

There will be a thread about the trip, mostly Maserati biased,in GG soon.

Top little car.

Ours was utterly faultless over 3 years and it was an early example too. We regret selling it, hey ho, we'll have another one one day I'm sure.

Has your back got better? It was a shame your back meant it didn't enter the Artic circle.

Regarding wheels, the steels look lovely but I have seen one advertised with the Alfa teledials on that looked good to me.

Yes,thank you,it gradually got better over. about 2 weeks after returning from Sweden.

Plan to return to "do" the midnight sun rally properly for the full 3 days.

I have some Alfa wheels to put on but I've had them painted red and not sure they'Re going to look right.

Little update, nothing for 8 months as so little goes wrong I just have nothing to report.

Anyhoo, got back from my latest Euro trip ,to Sweden,Finland and the Arctic circle.

Nearly 5000 miles in 15 days with almost no issues at all.

This little car is amazing !

I'll post a couple of location pics when the phone is recharged.

And at least 3 different Swedes said "nice car" to me.

Everybody loves a Barchetta.

Nothing much to update/report but the speedo is now all working correctly.

It's also nice to have a speedo needle that doesn't wobble all over the shoprotate[FORD]

And for some reason the speed reading looks really accurate to me,it just feels rightsmileand

i don't use a Satnav to compare it with either.

Went down to Worthing today to pick up an Ebay win so went down the coast looking for a nice

location for a pic and voila

I also passed the French car above again and it still looks forlorn and grubbyfrown
Emerald Quay on Shoreham Beach?

I grew up down by the Harbour Club further down the road....

This construction is now complete and I drove over it twice this year.

You have to register to pay the toll for it which going by the signs is currently 9SEK which is less than £1.

Take note M6 toll, charge stupid amounts,no one will use it.
