Looks amazing - these cars are stunning value at the moment.

Hoping to end up with one, or something similar from the Porsche stable, very soon.

What suspension set up are you going for? Porscheshop list a set up with 4 x shorter and stiffer springs and dampers with thicker anti roll bars for £650ish, which only lowers the car by 10mm so seems similar to the Porsche MO30 kit. Not sure if it still available, but this is what I am thinking of getting for mine.

No aircon is OK for me, less to go wrong and worry about, I cannot see it making much difference to the weight overall. I like the simplicity of mine, it is original even down to the radio etc.

Ahhh crap, why did I have to sell my VX, im in Bath from boxing day through 'til 06th Jan... frown that could have been my away day from the out laws!

Looks good, have always found the Boxster a bit marmite, but think I may be slowly coming around. Still glad I went with the VX for a year and a bit instead though, but think I would quite enjoy the drive and comfort compared to the vx

good feedback on the suspension options, I am not sure I want it too low, I think my front dampers are a bit tired due to age, so rather than go stock (which is expensive anyway) I am thinking of slightly lower and stiffer. I also have a Clio Trophy and have heard on the Clio forums that some of the cheaper coilovers are not so good on quality. I am not sure I want to spend half the value of the car on a suspension set up, I probably only do 1-2k miles a year.

I am close to Bedford Autodrome, so if you go again I will drag my old bus out of the garage and bring mine along. Never been on track but I a sure it would be good fun!

Had some feedback from the US company that they have stock of the MO30 kit, probably around $1300 delivered, although maybe duty on top. If it was closer to the Porscheshop price I would buy, but as it will probably be around £1k then coilovers maybe the better option.

Moosey - I would leave it just as it is - looks perfect and will only look better as the years pass!!!

I have a 2001 Boxster S with pretty much all the suspension replaced with uprated parts. I used the KW V3 coil overs with 996 GT3 ARB on the front and Tarrett Engineering on the rear. I also replaced all the bushes with poly and set the alignment with a decent amount of camber. This is about as low as you want to go and keep it as a road car, there is another 10mm or so in there if I want it but it already is tricky on speed humps etc.

I went a bit mad when I built it and installed GT3 brakes, a Carbonetic LSD, Schrick cams and various other track goodies. A build thread is here:

It goes really well, but I got distracted by us having a baby and me building a Toyota Mr2 race car this year so it hardly got used. I think the Mr2 will go up for sale and the Boxster resume its track duties in 2013, they are really good fun on the track and much more capable than their reputation suggests.

Have fun!
