Thanks for the positive response with regards to the mk4, as I know there are lots of haters on here with regards to the mk4 but I like them, this is far better to sit in than any of its rivals of the time, and as its a family car, and mainly my OH daily drive that's all that matters
EXACTLY

The PH standard response is that it is a VW and will have lifeless steering and drive like a boat but this is simply not the case when you compare the car with it's rivals at the time.

A mk4 Astra, a MB6 Civic, Alfa 145, Nissan Almera, Rover 200, Citreon xsara, Pugeot 306, BMW 3 series Compact and Fiat BRavo were competitors, how many of those are still desirable today>?

I have a copy of Top Gear magazine with a big feature which included the aforementioned competitors plus the Audi A3. The Golf/A3 came out 1st and 2nd respectively, the 306 GTI-6 was in third.

Not quite sure , but I read somewhere that these diesels golfs where winning rallies.
A tunning firm enter a couple in to show that they are not slow.

Someone will know what I'm on about.

Yeh exactly the same colour, seats etc. I haven't got the sunroof though actually, got aircon/climatronic instead. Oh and also don't have the bora dials smile. I know, very rare, took a good few weeks of hunting to find one!
This has climatronic and the sunroof, harks back to the days of my Golf VR6s they had climatronic and the sunroof too. Perfect.
Does your have Xenons too?
I retrofitted the Bora foils from another set of clocks, very straightforward and this way no coding, or mileage adjustments required
