The boomerang lights were only ever on the 3200 (twin turbo V8) The 4200 has the naturally aspirated (and more powerful) Ferrari V8 based engine. The common concensous is that the 42 is less trouble than the 32. My 42 has been great!
yeah but the rear lights on the 32 are so much nicer - I wonder if its possible to put them on the 42Thanks everybody for the advice and interest. Due to ongoing sh!tty weather car shopping is on hold . However I'm leaning towards the Maser 4200... perhaps I'm secretly terrified of owning an esoteric Itlaian, are they really a massive money pit remembering I do 3-5K miles per year in this car. I also like the 911 (I've seen a really nice 3.6 Carrera 4 with FSH in my budget advertised at a fairly local dealer) but I suspect the rear seats will be the deal breaker.
Funnily nobody's mentioned XK8.
I'll come back when I've been shopping.

Not a money pit at those mileages. Buy on condition. Have the clutch checked (especially if cambiocorsa) Make sure everything is working as it should and you will have a blast. I do similar miles in mine and it costs between 500 and 1000 a year depending on which level of service I go for and whether I am buying tyres. Use a good indie for service. -they will save you a fortune.
