Looks like a nice car, what are you plans for it?

I bought one last year to build into a track car. So far stripped most of the interior, just a few bits of the AC system to come out then its off to custom cages for a FIA cage.

That's a good one, as said by others way too nice to track.

Tracking is making good straight ones rarer at almost the same rate as barrying them nowadays imho. I had a right bd of a job finding a good, straight one. Come to think of it, the green one bmthnick had was probly the only other non botched one apart from mine that i looked at, out of over fifteen cars.

Nothing too extreme. Coilovers - arp bolts and shells - sump baffled - porsche brembo brakes and the company doing the work are goiing to look at improving cooling to brakes. Thats the aim for now.

Looks very nice - I actually saw pictures of this over on M3 cutters. I really need to take some decent pics / start a thread for my M3 Evo! I've had it for 4 months now, and I still don't really have any pics.

Yours looks lovely though. Would love a red one!

Noooooo don't put coilovers on! The ride will be too hard for UK roads and when you are improving the cooling to the brakes I hope it won't be by putting holes in the bumper!

Nice to see a straight E36 M3. I ran an E36 M3 Evolution saloon a decade ago and these cars are very capable machines. The 3.0 also has a gem of an engine (still to this day) when set up.

Keep it standard looking OP as it's a future classic!

Great cars, sold mine for an e46 smg as i was struggling with manual after a bike accident, wish i hadnt as the 3.0 was far more fun for little money

Is that one Daytona Violet? Looks identical to my old 3.0, I loved that car.

OP your car looks mint, any interior pics?

Off to the classifieds again. I keep looking at these.
I used to have an E46 M3 a few years ago. Great car.
OP that is a lovely car in a rare colour. Enjoy.

These are very colour sensitive I think, the red really suits it and makes it look newer, some of the colours from the time tend to date badly.

Just saw a red E30 M3 up for £39,995, amazing to think that would buy half decent E36 M3's, is the E30 eight times better ?

This is a second car and will be used for fun so if the ride is compromised with coilovers which i will get set up with road and track use in mind then it wont matter that much to me. I ran a clio cup on HR coilovers for 2 years and it was fine on road with a sensible ride height. We haven't ironed out the plans for the brake cooling yet but I will ensure the look is kept pretty much standard.

My first;

And my second;

Really do want another. This one looks tempting;

But I probably need to scratch the E39 M5 itch before I revisit E36 M3's.

What's the running cost like on one of these? None of the newer M cars interest me at all but I love these. Viable alternative to something like a decent 944, or RX7?

I have to say I agree this one looks almost too nice to track. Interesting BMW got the suede/leather the wrong way round!

Thats looks stunning! Please do not ruin it for track use.

The e36 is getting rare in such nice condition now, i am sure that will appreciate in value and in a few years be like hens teeth!

I miss my Avus 3.0 M3, brilliant car.

looks good but 6 years service gaps on a low mileage car needs checking out.
