mkiii Supra 5.7L V8 conversion
Discussion
Hi Staples,
Yes that was me. Sorry I can't remember exactly who you are, I spoke to quite a few people that weekend, it was nice to get so much interest in the car.
Shame you sold your Sup but glad you have plans for a V8 - there's a mkiV with the lexus V8 in the classifieds at the mo....

Thanks guys
Titwonk - no sorry mate, they're the only ones i've got. The passenger side was easy, just welded a tube onto a section of box and welded that to the front subframe. The Corvette engine mounts have ears that drop over either end of the tube, put a bolt through and Robert's your mothers brother. The driver's side was a little more fiddly as the mount had to span the power steering pump but it wasn't too much of a hassle. Next time I have the bonnet up I'll try and get some better pics for you.
Repent - Thanks a lot mate, that's really nice of you to say. It is a shame about the lump but it's all part of the fun
Brilliant, I'm planning something mental as soon as i get a garage and always wondered how you guys go about making the engine mounts! I'm definitely going to have to have a go at some point Titwonk - no sorry mate, they're the only ones i've got. Don't worry about it, I thought you might have had a few people chatting to you over that weekend Glad to see you're on PH. Yeah that MKIV is a guy on the MKIVsupra.net forum. If I had the money at the moment that would have been snapped up straight away.Yes that was me. Thanks for the comments guys.
WST - yes relocating the anchor points for the harnesses is on the list of jobs to do. My rear strut brace is made of cheese so when I get a decent one (or weld one in between the turrets) I will move the harnesses so they are horizontal.
Thanks for the comment
Titwonk - Excellent news. You must definitely do it (can you give us any clues...?)

Having seen this car transform from original to what it is today, I can vouch for the years of hard work that have gone into this one off Supra. The dedication and effort needed to pull this off on mostly your own driveway is truly admirable.
It's a proper beast on the road and track and certainly surprises a few other drivers, with the noise and power. It generates a lot of interest thats for sure!
Top lad for having a vision and seeing it through!
Great write up BTW, brings back many good memories of the engine swap!

Cheers Pad, you're help has been much appreciated. Couldn't have done this project without the help from my mates so muchos kudos to them
Here are a few vids for you Deltashad
The donor car stopped on the way from picking it up. I loved cruising around in this beast, was a shame to break it really.
