Don't know if this has been asked before, but this looks like a ground up build - What is the legality of this - Will it need an SVA?
No it's the same as a WRC shell. It's clearly not originally a WRC car so to be genuinely road legal it will have to pass IVA as the original registered chassis is heavily modified and you have posted pics all over the internet to that effect (DVLA rules are clear for cars like this).
However like thousands of other cars its unlikely DVLA will ever find out or inspect the car as your keeping the engine and thats a red flag to them so i suspect you can take the chance and just not inform them and run it as previous.
Wouldn't put it past DVLA now or the near future to have people scan build threads and put the cars on a "checklist" for inspection... they already look out for engine changes to trigger VOSA inspections (hence loads of cars being sold with huge engines etc that are still registered as 1.6's etc).... the rules are not new, its just they are starting to enforce them so be very careful.
Just to tie this thread up, the shell is up for sale on Facebook under ‘Frayz engineering’

Thanks everyone,
Yes as they say all good things must come to an end. Basically i bought this as a standard car when i was 21 and now im 35 and my life has moved on. Ive got a 5 week old little girl now and a Cayman R and i just dont have the time, funds or inclination to finish the build. Maybe i should have stopped before converting the shell to a WRC replica.
I built it as a 576bhp home built supercar chaser, which id did in anger for 4 years before i started the last evolution of it. I've had some amazing times and met some amazing people along the way.
If anyone is genuinely interested i'll be parting out the whole build or selling as a complete project for £15k inc everything i own for it, shell, engine box, genuine WRC sachs dampers, Syvecs ECU etc etc
Thanks for the memories and support.
