Colour wise, the favorite at the moment if Ford Grabber blue or the new Volvo Blue.

It definitely wont be Lotus colours, as i dont do look a likes.
If it's a genuine Mk2 Ford Cortina Lotus body, and it's got a Lotus engine, where's the look-a-like? White with the green flash is a must!

Twig, its not a lotus shell.

It was a 1500GT, one of the first and on an E plate.

Its Auto cos it will be a nicer drive,it wont break axles and i get the hump sitting in traffic jams everywhere.

Many top performance cars now have auto boxes you know!

It's not as if it'll blunt the performance too much - I'd guess you'll be lighting the tyres up at 30mph with that setup. biggrin

This is awesome. I recommend a beige, or a mid blue, something that doesn't draw any attention it, for some proper sleeper credential. A set of Lotus rims just wouldn't house brakes big enough to deal with the power this thing is producing, which is a pity biggrin.

Bravo for this project though.

Will the back axle cope?

I put a Rover v8 into a 1600E years ago and the back axle died very quickly , had to be replaced with one from a Corsair V4. Only 180hp or so but that was coupled to an auto box and made for quite a tool on the road , yours will be epic

Hi Liner 33.

One of the reasons i am sticking with an Automatic is that you dont tend to break axles and stuff.

Its usually all the shock loads on the poor diff and half shafts that break them

We shall see !!

Ours was an auto but we did have a stall convertor on it , perhaps it was the shock
