I'm developing a very large LS itch, and Monaros are becoming very sensibly priced in the classifieds.. Maybe in a few years when I can afford to fuel them eh

***UPDATE***

So after blowing a stock piston to pieces (#6 Cylinder), I ended up doing a complete engine build. Here are some details:

-Factory LSA Block
-Ported LSA Heads
-Manley 416 Stroker Kit
-Monster Twin Disc Clutch (rated to 1100RWHP)
-Magnuson Heartbeat 2300
-Built by Tune Time Performance in New Jersey and installed by myself and some friends

Goal with this setup is to make a conservative 850+BHP at about .8 Bar since the old setup made 764. Anything after that would be bonus. As far as the new blower, I will be spinning it at 21,000rpms so it will be moving some air smile. Hopefully I can finish getting it mapped up in the coming weeks so I can hit the rollers and she what she is all about. Stay tuned for more info.

Here is a video of the first start back in Mid April. Since then I have put 1018 break-in miles on the car.

There are a couple 416s driving around with great results. The stroke is not that much bigger than stock so shouldn't be an issue. Right now, I am seeing a little increase in mpg range (1-2mpg). The cam was a custom grind spec'd by Tune Time performance specifically for my build and blower. I can prob find the exact specs somewhere in my emails. The heads were also hand ported by the same shop and flow ~350cfm.
Good for you going your own way. I'm interested to see how it goes on the track and dyno. smile

Yea I am interested too so can hardly wait. I expect to see gains just nothing to Impressive. I rather not get my hopes up. Once I get this clutch situation sorted then I should be back in business smile

So I am really close to finishing up the tune and have been doing some WOT runs. The car pulls hard as expected with some minor kinks to work out. What I've noticed is that the Heartbeat Supercharger recovers very quickly at the end of runs. Cruising, I average IAT2 temps around 6-10* degrees Celsius higher than IAT1s. My redline is set at 6800rpm so in the end the blower is being spun at around 21600+rpms. Here is a quick log I did at about 80% throttle but my IATs were already high to begin with from consecutive runs.

What boost are you running and what IATs are you seeing?

16 pounds of boost right now ~ 1.1 bar. IATs normally end up at 145-150* on a 1-4 gear WOT run if I start at 100*. At the moment, I am pulling the plugs to re-gap them since I am experiencing spark blow out. I have NGK TR7ix's on the way so until then, I'll just hope these fix the issue.

One of my buddies in London has a full bolt on 2009 C63. It is quick he just ran 11.2@126 on a 75 shot of nitrous.

Intake air temps seem really high but i dont know what your airflow situation is like , what are your BATs as a comparison

Yes, means nothing really but I'm running 14psi with 120deg F after WOT which goes up on hot, sunny days. Heat soak in traffic is awful though which is why I'm thinking of getting an AC chiller, maybe a good option for you?

Those are good temps you have there. If I come to a standstill for longer the 3-4 minutes then the underhood temps just skyrocket. I looked into a chiller but don't want the added possibility of another component failing :/ Down the road, If I cannot combat the temps then meth with be the solution.

Thanks! Hopefully we should have new dyno numbers soon to see how the build came out.

Quick update:

Did a dyno pull at Eurospec this weekend with a group. We made 670 to the wheels with 12 degrees timing. It was a rather hot day and inside the facility even hotter. Intake air temperatures were at about 46* C at the beginning of a pull and finishing off at about 60*.

I may have to make a visit to Surrey Rolling Road to get a better grip on what kind of power it really makes. An SVM r35 GTR that runs high nines and low 10s made 576whp right before me. A couple other cars were dynoe'd really low as well. Hopefully I can find some time soon to get it to Santa Pod and see what it can do down the strip.

Hopefully you can comfortably break into the 10's

That's still pretty good given the warm weather but those IATs sound a little high. I'd be pretty pleased with that, who did the tune for you? Is that on normal fuel?

Well I called SRR today to see i f I could get in soon but they are on holiday until 5 AUG. Normally, I'd see much lower IATs on the street but it was an oven in there. AS far as the tune, I'm doing it remotely with help from a friend in the states on 98RON. He wants to do a race map but im not going to spend 5 quid a litre for VP109.
