Citroen CX, because why not?

Am I right to think / remember that these didn't have a rear wiper because the concave glass and aerodynamics allowed water to be swept clear naturally?
There's a chap down this way who I've seen driving about in a CX and a GS on different occasions. Bit of a fan I'd say.
Yep. Works nicely although a small triangle of water appears to hover at the top centre and aesthetically it's one of my favourite features. There's a chap down this way who I've seen driving about in a CX and a GS on different occasions. Bit of a fan I'd say.
Mine was recently replaced although the heater element is kaput so it's on the list of maybe items.

Just checked ebay, nice safari needing work, sadly £2.25 bid not enough!
Rather you than me, but this one looks like it could be nice, but there's not enough info to go on:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1980-CITROEN-CX-ATHENA-B...
Had a couple of Safari versions as company cars way back , v and b plates . Way ahead of anything else and made a great service barge and towing machine .
Only grumble I can remember wash wishing for a car that I could start and drive away in , rather than having to wait for the suspension to raise itself .

Great car OP. Love the photos. You're a braver man than me, taking a 35-year old car on a 450 mile drive in bad weather with no breakdown cover!
The snow-covered Monza photo is also cool. Pity the car didn't live up to its description.

A black CX which appeared to be a GTI Turbo II came up behind me on the M6 on Sunday as I headed home from Edinburgh. Sadly he didn't keep up with me when the traffic cleared so I didn't get a proper look, but I haven't seen a CX being used on the road for ages so I wish now I'd slowed down to admire it. Lovely things.
I had a 80s CX2400 Pallas auto back in the early 90s. Loved it and ran it for 4 years with trips across the continent and up and down the UK. Had a DS as well.
Wish I still had them, especially the DS as it would have been the only car that I would have made money on, if I'd kept it.
Nice find OP.
Always think that the newish C6 is the CX for the 21st century and it still has the convex rear window.

Wonderful.
Spotted at Goodwood last weekend, second one in as many days and the same colour.
My dad had a 2400 Safari (auto) back in 1983. Best car he ever had.....again was ferried around in GS / GS Estate / Dyane, learnt to drive in a BX.
Dad still has a Picasso and a 1958 2cv!
Maybe they aren't as rare as I thought. Similar age? This car is practically identical to mine http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C371755Spotted at Goodwood last weekend, second one in as many days and the same colour.

Agreed about the C6, I'm definitely a fan.Wish I still had them, especially the DS as it would have been the only car that I would have made money on, if I'd kept it.

Some shots of it looking a bit cold.
I have some touch up paint I'm going to try out, but I hink I'll wait until it warms up a little.
Hey W00DY, what a joy to see another CX 2400 Pallas!
I had one back home in Sydney (there's a potted history in my garage) and the serenity and suppleness still haunt me to this day.
In fact, the 600 SEL I just bought is the first thing that's bettered it for offering such an other-worldly experience.
Just pray that you never have to change the wiper motor.
Pray hard.
Upwards and onwards!
