I was thinking that, given Peugeot's do have rust issues, its a perfect chance to get the car sprayed up, and cavity wax / seam seal and stone chip the underside.
Dinitrol treatment for the cavity wax: http://www.dinitrol.co.uk/

And 3M Stone chip http://catalogue.3m.co.uk/en_gb/gb-aad/Coatings/An...
Despite seeing the old shell not all that many 205s rusted, I have a 135,000 mile k plate that had very little rust at all before restoration and a 1992 one with 36,000 miles with one 50p sized piece of surface rust under a bumper.

When we repainted my t16 kitted car the body shop drilled something like 10-15 holes at the top of the fiberglass panels where they joined the car and then filled them with a "product" (I can find out) and this stopped the fiberglass moving and cracking. I was amazed at how quickly they paint can crack due to movement. I doubt 470bhp on mine helps much!

Mine is 26 years old, nearly 200,000 miles and has only had one tiny bit of welding by the rear arch - about 3x4 cm.
Rest is rust-free.

spent a few hrs out in the garage tonite mainly fitting rear beam and finding parts that the bodyshop require such as lights door rubbers door catches etc so they can line up everything and I couldn't help myself had to fit lights to see what it all looked like.
I didn't like the look of the door catches so I asked my dad if he could make some stainless steel ones with new plastic covering these look great and we have 3 more sets if anyone else is interested. I also have picked up my steering column that has been converted with a corsa b power steering column and yet again my dad as done a fantastic job with this. wont be long and this will be back on its wheels and I can get over to bodyshop then can make a start on engine and gearbox.

I got the strip from a guy on the Vw caddy forum, he does all types and textures. I can look him up if you need it.

Had a trial fitting of the steering column and looks like its goung to clear everything may need some final tweaking when dash goes in fully.

It will look bloody stunning in that colour, as I said earlier in the thread (I think) it will remind me even more of the T16 street version which can only be a very good thing smile

Do you know what would be nice. The centres of the Dimma wheels painted white. Read Dimma decals etc.

Effectively a T16/Dimma clone. Still all Dimma but with a nod to the greatest road Peugeot ever made.

I have just some pics on passionfotd of the hydraulic clutch conversion that I did to my 205 pedal box, it is easy to do and would compliment the power steering. I used Reylands master and slave cylinders. I also used a non abs 405 master cylinder on the brake servo as it fits straight on.

This is going to be magnificent.

I always loved the Dimma cars.

The Dimma Clio Williams was a personal favorite as well as the 205.

Edit: it almost brings a tear to my eye to see this http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=...
