This is going to be magnificent.

I always loved the Dimma cars.

The Dimma Clio Williams was a personal favorite as well as the 205.

Edit: it almost brings a tear to my eye to see this http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=...

Not many rwd done, I wonder if too short a wheel base? Mine is 4wd but getting a box to handle 500bhp and not be too noisy like a race box is over £5k as I am just finding out.

I had a 205 T16 replica back in 2003 that used to compete in forest rallies. That had a 2.0 Turbo Vaux engine, race box and a shortened prop to RWD. It can be done and it does work.

Things have slowed down again due to waiting for car to go to bodyshop end of the month so car is in the way just got few jobs to do on the shell like hanging the doors which I can get on with now as I have now got the hinges back from the blaster along with few other bits so these have been primed also had the slam panel powdercoated and have got engine on the stand and have started to strip it ready for cleaning and rebuilding.

Now the car is out the garage I have been having a good sort out and tidy up and have also made a start on stripping engine, I have now got block stripped and will tske to work and steam clean the worse bits then it can go of to vapour blasters. I have got to measure crank so I can get correct bearings and shells then will order new liner, rings, piston etc.
Picking up 2 Be1 gearboxes at end of feb so will get these stripped and vapour blasted and rebuilt.

Parts for vapour blasting

seems a shame you're just putting the standard engine back in...any plans for it? I would have thought this would be perfect for a 16V conversion.

I'd always toyed with the idea of a supercharged low compression 1.9 8V while I had my 205 gti 16V... Would be an interesting project! Maybe one day!

If it is going to be a fun road car I would swap out the final drive for a 1.6, it makes them much more revvy to drive and it becomes a close ratio box...essentially it is like fitting a 1.6 box. I am going to do it on my 16v (gti6) in my 1.9 as I only use it on back roads and do not need more than 115mph top end.

This way the 1.9 is easily powerful enough and it is fun to drive them hard and rev them out.

You can always put in a nice 16v lump later if it takes your fancy as it is pretty much a drop in conversion.
